Hi guys,

I'm totally clueless on CFW

tinfoil wasn't installing games, you'd tell it to install a game it pretends to download a file (22gb in a sec)
Read online somewhere that its just downloading metadata as the less than legal repositories of backup games (im intentionally being obtuse here) are likely down.
Imported Open NX, still not downloading or installing properly (could this be a clock issue? I also disabled all previous sources)
Last time I updated was like a year ago through BGG (because I thought that was the easiest), I know he is hated and most of his shit breaks stuff/ is sketch

updated to 21.2.0
updated hekate
updated atmosphere

Using Kefir, so Tinfoil runs (?)
Again, can't download/install anything (AI says FS & ES unpatched)
NUT + Tinfoil can't see titles installed (keys.txt missing)
Other homebrew apps like Goldleaf, Awoo Installer etc obviously dont work because theyre not updated

My question's are:
1. Did BGG screw me in this instance?
2. Would I have been able to install Legal Backups from a clean HATS setup?
(obviously installing them individually because I despise bundles now)
3. Is this scenario expected with newer firmware? Everywhere I read tells me I was too early to update.
4. Do I have any options to install unsigned software?

Sigpatches + sys-patches v1.5.9

Apologies if I broke any rules, if a mod sees this please message me and I will try to cut out offending material. Or delete this post.

Hi everyone. I'm not new to switch modding, but I'm not very experienced. I keep gettting error code 2101-0001 on both atmosphere and ofw, and i know its a hardware issue with my usb charging port. however, i really dont have a means to repair it, so is there any other way, or another reason for this error happening? Thank you.

Your issue is probably the M92T36 power management chip

Hey all! Long time lurker, love the community and resources here! First post ever. I'm not TOTALLY new, but been out of all the updates for the past few years.

V1 unpatched switch 1, been using rcm to hekate & atmosphere for a loing time with various updates to sig patches when new games came out.

I tried the new Super Mario Galaxy 1+2 from the cart, which forced an update that I stupidly proceeded with. My emummc is now operating at 20.1.5. OFW still remains at 13.x.x

I updated Atmosphere, hekate and all sigpatches, so all my previously installed games work and everything runs fine. So does the Galaxy cartridge, but Tinfoil and other homebrew apps are now having issues.

I used Tinfoil only to install games from their cartridges. What's the best alternative now?

I'm reading into DBI, but it sounds like there's malware or a bricking possibility if using the non-english version. Thanks!

hi dears, i hastily upgraded my modchip oled without following this guide (not uninstalling themes, no pre-prep steps taken apart from clicking backup in hekate and copying entire sd card to pc) ( https://gbatemp.net/threads/ultimate-guide-to-upgrade-your-firmware-atmosphere.661148/ ) and now my switch boots into just a black screen after clicking emummc in hekate. i deleted everything in the sd card and restored the backup of all files i made before upgrading, but it said "Horizon version unsupported." So I again upgraded atmosphere and hekate (it has the errata fix), now doing the steps in the guide, i still get black screen now after selecting emummc.

i did click all the backup buttons before upgrading, but when i click restore now it says "no file found", though i do see the files its trying to find in the sd card.

is there a way i can try booting with logs, so i get a sense of whats going wrong? also when i copied everything from sd card pre-upgrade back in, how come it said HOS version unrecognized - everything should have been exactly same as before upgrading? im pretty sure im using file-based emummc with a 179gb emummc folder on the sd.

after inspecting closer, it seems that my charging port (the actual metal ring thing) somehow broke, and a part of it is cracked. Could this have crushed / damaged some components such as capacitors or that power management chip? if not, can it be fixed simply by opening up the switch and replacing the charging port itself?

Probably need to replace the port first to see if the problem is that port or not.

Dumb question, I googled around but couldn't get a straight answer:

My system is on emummc but the sd card is filling up. Can I format a new card and none of the other/orphaned titles will show up, will it be a clean slate or will I have issues?

is there any way to check this without replacement parts? I really want to make sure the problem is either the chip or port before buying a replacement. Also, would I just need a micro soldering kit and that replacement part? Thanks.

Well if your port doesn't work you will have to fix it since you ain't able to charge. But based on what you provided so far it point to that power management chip i mentioned

Some games now require more recent FW on my Atmosphere Switch V1 so I would like to update everything. I know the process I'm just not sure on which FW should I go, I see that 21.0.0 is the latest available on darthsternie but I'm not sure if it's stable? I will update to 1.10.2 Atmosphere.

I believe 20.5.0 is recommended at the moment, right?

Depends on your previous setup if all the apps and sys-modules that you've used in the past are updated to with the latest libnx. I'm currently on the latest & greatest and I'm yet to run into an issue. Mind you that the only stuff I do on my Switch comes down to installing and playing games, no cheats, mods or similar. If that's what you do as well, feel free to update to the latest firmware, Atmosphere, hekate, sys-patch, installer of your choice (I use latest Russian version of DBI) and whichever sys-module that you're using (I'm using MissionControl and UltraHand, both of which are up-to-date for the latest firmware).

Okay, I updated it on 21.0.0 version since I also just play games and it works fine. Yes, I had to install the russian version of DBI but I'm only using MTP so I can easily navigate through it.

I have a question about the sys-module, what is that and what it is used for? I don't remember ever installing that.

I created an emunand on the RAWnand partition and have created a new one on the SD card.

If i want to delete the RAWnand emunand, is it just a matter of deleting the folder under sdmc:/emuMMC/RAW1?

I read somewhere that when the RAWnand emunand was created, it partitioned my SD card. Is this true and if yes, for me to completely remove the rawnand do i also need to repartition my SD card or delete a "hidden" partition of some kind?

thanks in advance.

Let's say that they are some kind of scripts/apps/processes that your console can run in the background e.g. sys-patch, emuiibo, sys-clk, MissionControl, etc. They are not your usual homebrew apps.

That RAW1 folder only contains the files that would be in the microSD card on an unmodded switch (album captures, games installed to SD) for that emuMMC. The actual emuMMC itself is stored in a separate partition on the microSD. So yes, reclaiming the space used by a partition-based emuMMC requires repartitioning the card, with all that entails.

If it were a file-based emuMMC, it would be stored as standard files instead, and reclaiming that space would not require repartitioning. But if that were the case, the corresponding folder under sdmc:/emuMMC would likely have a different name, and not RAW1.

Okay I checked the paritions in disk manager and i see a 15gb one. I'm presuming that's the raw emunand partition that was created.

Followup question then if i create an SD emunand located at SD001, would that be considered the file-based emuMMC?

I'm just asking because currently i have sdmc:/emuMMC/RAW1 and sdmc:/emuMMC/SD001. in hekate i see there are two listing for emunands. I want to remove the one in raw1 because that emunand has gone tits up but just needed to know if i also need to repartition the entire drive (ideally i dont want to do this because of the SD001 partition which is working good but if there's no other way i might as well scrap and start from the start again)

If you're sure the file-based emuMMC is OK, and both are the same size, you could dump it and restore it to the partition-based one. This would let you recover the space of the file-based one, and not require repartitioning. I'm not sure of the exact steps though, I've never done that myself, and it probably requires enough free space on the SD for the dump/restore.

I want to dump all my games with NXDT so they can be installed on other modded Switch systems without any data tying them to my Switch or NNID.

Which settings should I use? Are there any I should avoid?
