1. How long have you had your R4 and how many do you own? Where did you buy it off of?
I've almost had mine a year now. It'll be a year next month. I bought it from Gameyeeeah when they had a US store.

2. What kind of memory card do you use?
I had a 1GB Kingston Taiwan in it for a long time and never had any problems, but now I have a Sandisk 2GB.

3. Have there been any problems with your unit?
It's crashed a few times, but not recently. Maybe twice and that's probably from cheats.

4. How do you have your folders organized?
I have a folder names Games on it and that's where everything goes. If I put music on it (very rarely), I'll make a folder called Music, etc.

5. Do you use your R4 mainly for games or Media/Homebrew?
Games.

6. Do you have any accessories for your DSL?
I have a phat DS.

7. How did you find out about flash carts?
From a friend of mine.

1: I got my R4 from my girlfriend for christmas. She got it from Sky2k though.

2: I use a sandisk 1GB that I got from a camera shop down the street. I might get another but I don't really see any reason to.

3: It distracts me far too much.

4: I have my ROMs organized by system except for my MSX ROMs becuase PenkoDS wasn't havin' it.

5: I use my R4 for emulation mainly, I'll try out a homebrew if it looks interesting. I'm still waiting for Cave Story to be ported though.

6: I have a case that my girlfriend made for me.

7: I first heard of flashing back when the GBA was around. I wanted to try it out but it seemed expensive and the emulators weren't so great at the time. When the slot-1 options came out I was sold by how easy and cheap they were. The idea of playing Earthbound or Street Fighter II: Turbo anywhere I want also factored in.

8: Earthbound and Maniac Mansion are always my favorite games at the moment.

1. How long have you had your R4 and how many do you own? Where did you buy it off of?
I've had it since it was relatively new, i bought it from Kickgaming. Just bought a EZ-flash from dealextreme (can't wait for some gba-ness)

2. What kind of memory card do you use?
PNY 1gb Japan. haven't had any problems with speed yet. Even with the faster games.

3. Have there been any problems with your unit?
I got one of the older generations of the R4, the ones with the spring. After putting in the MicroSD once the spring broke. Nothing alittle bit of technical and mechanical know how won't fix.

4. How do you have your folders organized?
There's a separate folder for my NDS games, homebrew, manga/comicbooks, DPG, mp3s, books, and Snes.

5. Do you use your R4 mainly for games or Media/Homebrew?
Both, lately I've been using it for ComicbookDS alot though.

6. Do you have any accessories for your DSL?
Guard Mask, have a black one for my black ds. But now it's half pink (my girlfriend switched the top part of her pink one with me)
Retractable Stylus - keeps my hands from blocking the touch screen

7. How did you find out about flash carts?
I've known about them since the GBA-era. I owned a whole bunch of those 40 in 1 cartridges for the GBA that I got from relatives in Asia.

8. Favorite games of the moment?
Final Fantasy CC: Rings of Fate, Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Swords, Professor Layton's Weekly Puzzles

1. How long have you had your R4 and how many do you own? Where did you buy it off of?
I've had my R4 since this christmas. My dad bought it for me, as well as my wiikey (mostly so he wouldn't have to buy all the games I asked for).

2. What kind of memory card do you use?
I've got a Sandisk 1gb. I like the size, but I wouldn't mind a bigger one. It holds about 10 games at a time

3. Have there been any problems with your unit?
Not an issue yet. Easy to set up, and easier to use. Drag and Drop FTW.

4. How do you have your folders organized?
I have a folder for Roms specifially, not like I need it. That's all I use it for. i could just drop them on the root, but what ever.

5. Do you use your R4 mainly for games or Media/Homebrew?
Games. I tried a few homebrew applications, but I've got a PSP/3.90m33+1.5 w/4gb memstick which can handle homebrew much better.

6. Do you have any accessories for your DSL?
Not one. Screen protectors are weird.

7. How did you find out about flash carts?
My friends Devin and Ray got them before I did. At the time, I didn't care much for the NDS, and I still don't that much, but it's handy for long trips, and Mario Kart is love.

8. Favorite games of the moment?
Mario Kart is love, but I own that game. Currently on my R4, Nanostray 2, Advancewars Dark Conflict, Electroplankton, Apollo Justice, and Tales of Innocence. I could add more, but I've got an assload of Wii games to catch up on.

1. Not even a year ago, I've got only 1 R4DS, and I'm in Indonesia, so I won't bother answering

2. SanDisk 1GB sadly, since it's pretty slow and I can't afford to buy another one.

3. Nope, well yes, but it's my fault, and don't know how to fix it (tell you what, it's because I collided my R4 with the desk edge)

4. I didn't, I just put the games there, just that, what else?

5. Games, NDS was made for gaming purpose, and so is R4DS

6. Sadly, only the strap R4DS gave me, and NDSLite case coming with the package

7. I didn't even know until I asked why my cousin has so many games in his DS,a dn he told me there's something called "Supercard"

8. Too many to be typed

although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, I think you're talking about the recovery mode that the SaveMii used, and also was to restore softbricked systems.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
If your NAND was hardbricked, then just buy another Wii. Or go with the dirty NAND flasher method.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced
