Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is headed to theaters imminently, and if you're looking forward to even more Sonic film content, you won't have to worry. Sonic the Hedgehog 4 has been confirmed by Paramount Pictures. Any further information on the movie, beyond its projected launch in Spring 2027, is unknown. For now, Sonic 3 releases worldwide tomorrow, December 20th.

Y'all keep forgetting that they have to include the humans to the movies, and the more characters getting added, the more it's gonna get complicated (Which was already an issue with the 3rd one from what I heard where they were juggling with so much characters and screen time that some scenes felt rushed) unless the 4th one actually ends the connection of Sonic and the real world and goes back to his own world for once which actually kinda sounds like a decent premise

I think it's fair to say they're going to run this into the ground and/or milk it for as long as they possibly can.

that means one thing: Sonic the Hedgehog movie franchise has been deemed as a cashcow with a reasonable amount of confidence.

OK guys, calm down. You're pumping these out a bit too quickly and the quality is going to suffer. 3 is a good number and after the 3rd most people are ready for something different. Take a few years off until you come up with a truly incredible idea that warrants making a 4th. If you can't do that, then it isn't worth making. At this rate you'll just run the franchise into the ground like has happened so many times in the past, take for example Police Academy. You will ruin any chance of future Sonic the Hedgehog movies being big successes, just for the sake of short term success, because people will be so sick of seeing the same concept regurgitated over and over.

thought the first one was horrible, no way in hell am i gonna sit through 3 more. Hollywood needs to take a break on making movies for a few years.

This. Corporations often adopt this mindset, opting for short term profitability over long term sustainability. Sonic the Hedgehog as an IP has established itself over decades. People are familiar with the character, and there's even flexibility because no one can agree on continuity. Franchises like this have the potential to be Bond's with the right quality and release schedule.

If the goodwill runs dry, the franchise goes dormant and needs to be revived every 10 years until someone gets it right enough. I only saw the first movie, and I found the Sonic design controversy intriguing. Still, I don't want Sonic to be another one of those movie franchises.
