Attention this guide is for HENKAKU only!!!

For everyone who might have the same issues as me I'll provide a solution for you

Here's the post I made about my issue https://gbatemp.net/threads/switched-sd-card-and-now-everythings-gone.660352/

Your sd card will always be caught in a loop asking you to format it if you don't format it with Win32 Disk Imager and use the zzBlank.img. Also don't follow any guide that tells you to repeat the process with Yamt and changing ux0 to default again. You don't need that if you already have a backup of your files

To fix the issue you can follow this guide right here https://hackinformer.com/2017/07/29/properly-format-sd-sd2vita-adapter-set-vita/

Follow the steps. If you have a backup on your pc use that instead of using Vitashell and transferring the files via ftp because it's much slower than just directly copying the files you need

Also here's where you can download Win32 Disk Imager https://win32diskimager.org/ and here's where you can download zzBlank.img https://www.psx-place.com/resources/zzblank-img.941/

Also I will attach a screenshot to clarify which option you have to click on if your native language is neither German or English, since the screenshot is in German

Can you help me I’m having the same issue. I don’t have any files backed up and I can only use the Henkaku settings like you. Mine sd card was also fake. Did you buy a new one plugged it in and everything was fine ? At this point I’m happy even using my 8gb Sony Psvita card and stop using sd2vita. What should I do?

I bought a new one from an electronics store

The new one didn't work at first only after I formatted it with zzBlank.img

Also what SD2Vita adapter are you using?

Also you need to set ux0 to default again so you can repeat the process of copying your ux0 files to uma0

Follow the steps of this guide

https://vita.hacks.guide/yamt.html

how do I even access ux0?
either by using vitashell and ftp or connect the sd card to a pc via an adapter.
What you should do is:
1-Backup everything from the sd card (be sure to have the settings in windows to display hidden files and partitions)
2-The new sd card, plug it in the pc and write the zzz.blank image file using Win32diskimager
3-Format it
4-Copy everything to the new sd card

Ux0 is the card that the vita uses to store apps, photos and vids. If you have yamt or storagemgr then you can simply use psvita card as ux0. Having Ux0 set to sd2vita makes the console think the sd2vita is an official memory card

Thanks for explaining it to them. I was confused by their question 😅

That's funny I've never had any problems with my card. I've seen the format thing like 3 times, but it's never been any kind of an issue, so I think I just hit cancel and the unit is fine. But this is good stuff to know, saved all of those links.

Thank you tw_fan!!!

You're welcome. I saw several people having the same issue but they never found a solution so I thought of sharing this in order for people to fix this issue

When I connect the sd card to the laptop it says that I need to set the sd card and that means a total format of the old one

It’s like when I plug the old sd card in the laptop, in order to open the files I need to set it and complete the top left box , then it says that if I do so , everything will be deleted . Should I just start the new card and download vitashell autoplugin and things ?

But he has to format his sd card anyway
He says it's with the old card so in order to back up any files he needs to get it to be readable by the pc

it would be better if you could copy the contents of the old one since some folders are ps vita specific. Can you use vitashell on the psvita? since you could set your ux0 to the vita memory card and copy the files from there using ftp.
Also make sure the adapter is not set to write protected, it has that tab on the side, it needs to be up in order to be able to write to the sd card

Oh ok. I had the same issue. But luckily I did have a backup of my files on my pc. That was actually the first thing I did.

I couldn't delete, move copy files or do anything else with my old sd card. It simply wouldn't work

That's why I told him to set his ux0 to default again to transfer his files again since he can't access his old sd card

I have tried a brand new adapter and an older one of mine. Same thing happened with both . Now I am reading the zzz.blank in the new sd card and then I’ll format it. Then I suppose I have to install Vitashell, pkgj, autoplugin from scratch
