If you modify your OLED model to use an SD2VITA by default do you still need the proprietary Sony Memory card to use your device?

Or can you just sell the Sony memory card once the process of hacking is done?

usualy a memory card is needed after modifying the console. But you can repartition the internal flash to have a 1Gb internal memory card for the henlo/henkaku bootstrap instead

In fact, it seems to be possible to hack even an OLED model without an official memory card in the first place using HENlo, by repartitioning the flash memory.

You should keep one around just in case you screw up your hack and need to rehack as the 1000 model requiring to set up IMCUnlock.

I removed (and lost) my memory card a year ago. The system works fine with just the sd2vita adapter, as long as the YAMT kernel module is installed to the internal storage and not on ux0 at boot.
