Nintendo Switch is only 1.1 million units behind PlayStation 2 in lifetime sales

The Switch as been successful for Nintendo, no doubt about it. They needed a win, after the Wii U and the forfeiting the handheld market. Nintendo's gone ahead and put a ton of effort into this gen, and it has kept them profitable. I hope they approach each new gen with a similar mindset.

To think, the PS2 was in production for 12 years, but the Switch has only been around for about seven.

Whether it's 1 million or 10 million doesn't matter so much. The Switch isn't dead yet, and won't be dead until some time after the Switch 2 releases. There's a good chance of it surpassing the PS2 by that time either way. Especially if Nintendo lowers the MSRP.
