I recently bought a slim, updated to the latest dashboard and preformed a RGH3 (Corona v1/v2 4GB). For the most part everything is fine but it's acting weird.

Pushing the eject button to boot into Xell does not work if I've just attached the power cord. I hear a beep then nothing happens. if I continuously push it maybe on the 20th time it'll work but more often then not, nothing. When I boot into the system the eject button works 100% of the time, I can play disks and backups, the temp is ~30C when I first boot and doesn't get any hotter then I'd expect after playing a game. I'll power it off and it'll go into low-power mode where the center light will blink green. I've disabled background downloading, cloud storage, I've disconnected from wifi and the system does not have anything plugged into it. It'll usually sit in low-power mode until I remove the power altogether. I'd say 5% of the time It'll power off normally and in this case, I'm able to use the eject button to boot in to xell.

I have no idea how this system was before the RGH, all I did was power it on long enough to update to the latest dashboard. I did have some problems trying to read/write the nand but I assumed that was just because of the pico.

any thoughts?

Yea I second @DinohScene , I've done over 10 RGH3's on slims and have never come across this problem. I'd go back and check all solder points, maybe you have a cold solder joint not making a good contact.

This will be my 3rd RGH3 on a slim and the first 2 have been fine so far. I did find this so I was thinking it's a hardware issue of some sort. I can boot Normally the first time using the power button 100% of the time without any issue.

is it worth trying to resolder the 4 points or should I just start over? Flash the Original NAND, remove the 2 wires and see if the issue is still there?

I would personally, but that's your call. If it does the same in stock form, then you will know its a original system problem, and not a RGH install issue. Good luck.

I think that's what I'm going to do. Start fresh and see how it acts. I was more hopeful I was bad at research and this would be a common issue like false overheating. Thanks.

Try playing with the ribbon cable that connects the faceplate to the sync daughter board. Ribbon cable in general is problematic.
I have my other slim, I might swap motherboards and see if the issue is still there. Thanks for this idea!

No change. First I swapped boards and the problem followed the corona board. I flashed nanddump1.bin on to the corona board, removed the rgh3 wires, and after cleaning I inspected around the area I touched with a digital magnifier to make sure nothing was bridged. Things looked alright to me.

Same problem. eject does nothing for the first boot, Power works 100% of the time, and eject works flawlessly after.

I tested the six 0ohm resistors for the false overheating issue and they all read near 0, if not 0 exactly. More research suggest I still have no idea what the problem is but the only causes for the green blinking light is for background downloads or for the console to cool itself before powering off. I've ordered some new resistors and will replace them when they get here even though I don't think that's the problem.
