A PS2 no booter.

Like others, I got a PS2. I got mine cheap for 10 bucks at a tag sale, which I later found out to have a modchip. It's an older Modbo 750, can't tell which version other than that. I'd get to the Modbo boot screen, artifacts would flicker quickly, and nothing else. I figured the modchip was an issue, so I take it out properly. Now it won't boot at all, or atleast display an image. It tells my TV a signal is being sent, but nothing appears other than a black screen. I cleaned the console with IPA, double checked connections, disc drive moves, *though roughly because the ribbon got caught underneath*. I am no stranger to Nintendo consoles and their issues, but this is a brand new line I enter with Sony. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

*P.S: I might be late to respond, I am going to sleep soon and I have science finals Tuesday and Wednesday. Trying my best!*

Could be that it's set to output to component. If you're trying it via composite you won't get any output.

Will it? I thought it only applied to Component / RGB configuration, where the image would be tinted green if there was a mismatch.

Modchips do fix the green screen issue, there's also a 1-wire jumper method as well.

Didn't know that, actually. Weird that a modchip goes so far as to fix something that isn't a fault.

Sadly, I tried that. The whole down x down down down x left whatever didn't work. I also tried PS1 composite cables, which also didn't work. It's not a matter of no signal, which would be the case for it being set to component. I believe something inside the MOBO is either dead or I am just seriously unlucky. I'll try and grab pics later.

Update: I took pics but none of them matter. It's just a black screen with a ps2 running. if I need, I can try to get a picture of the mobo itself, but I'm doubtful I can repair it further. I wouldn't know the exact parts I need, and I don't have a reflow station.
