The changes in the CUE file are completely wrong. You only need to remove the space in the first line to match the name of the BIN file: just replace "Sonic CD.bin" with "SonicCD.bin". Now rename both CUE and BIN files to SonicCD.cue and SonicCD.bin. You can delete " Sonic CD.bin" from the SD Card.
YOU ARE A GODSEND!!!

So, Let me tell what happened: I saw your post last night, and had little hope that what you'd say would help. Not because of your ability, but because of how technologically inept I am, I know I'll butcher something and basically lose my cool.

This morning, I get all the BIOS files in order, and had to do some deep digging to find the a European Copy of Sonic CD. This time, it was CHD file, which I never before (but remembered you saying it works just as great). Just in case, I grabbed the original files from the site I used (the ones I showed in the screenshot) and set them in the game folder as well. I did what you told me to do in the CUE file, and changed the file names to "SonicCD"

I load the SD Card into the slot and got prepared to be sent to the main screen, as per usual. I clicked the file... and something different happened. I saw the SEGA CD title screen load. Then Sonic shows up and he stands next to "SEGA PRESENTS..." Then... the Blue Blur showed up on the screen!!! It was like a childhood dream come true, man! (Oh, and technically nightmare. I just suddenly remembered the secret soundtest screen with the nightmare images.)*

I tried the other files, even clicking on them both. BOTH worked, and I learned then what the problem was. The problem was the copy of Sonic CD I had shown above was the US version, and I only had the EU BIOS set up, making it impossible for them to connect.

I'm going to test the other SEGA CD title I had planned, but... I don't have doubts now what I'll need to do/look for from now on, thanks to you, Rrifonas!

Seriously, you made my whole frickin' year. (and my upcoming birthday, pretty much.) I can't thank you enough!

*Side Note: Just realized now why people think and feel that the SEGA CD is a goofy piece of hardware. The "animation" sequence that plays when you don't press anything on the screen of Sonic CD, while impressive, was basically like watching a movie with Adobe Flash Audio and trying to watch into a screen 3x smaller than your TV, with pixels covering everything. I guess the "top of the line" hardware back then wasn't much, was it?
Post automatically merged:

Oh, and by the way... about that SMT problem I had. I just learned that there was a port to it for the SEGA CD. Only downside is... it's all in Japanese. But... I guess beggars can't be choosers?

The stress of just trying to get SEGA CD to work, I don't think I'm up to try and get SNES going at this time, which was SUPPOSED to be simpler in my assumption. But... just to make sure; If the file for a SNES game download shows up as a ".SMC" or ".SFC" file extension, if I just change the extension to ".fig", it should be playable in theory, correct?

Take a look at this post: https://gbatemp.net/threads/custom-firmware-for-sega-flashback-2018.523590/post-8471248

You just need to bridge the points in red and plug a normal USB cable while pressing the recovery button. You can backup the nand using a tool call rkDumper , just use an older Rockchip Driver. You can find the right driver and a "user-ready" in https://gbatemp.net/threads/sega-me...-on-internal-mother-board.491498/post-9978158

If I'm not mistaken the controller is wired directly to the CPU/GPIO so good luck with your mod! I'm looking forward to see your progress!

so i was able to back up the nand after soldering those 2 points but my little brother got ahold of it and snapped the motherboard, the rockchip (monkey king), HDMI port, and sd card slot is all intact but the controller board, onboard memory, and micro USB port aren't as lucky... the main components are still there, I was thinking about soldering a new micro USB port to the board but 2 of the pads were ripped off. there r 6 pins from the onboard memory missing. (shown in pics) could I still save this if I were to make my own controller input and test for other points to power this with instead of a micro USB port. i could strip a micro USB cable and hook up the power and data lines to the 4 little holes that were shown in the picture that u linked for a sega flashback.

How do you insert coins for separate players?
For instance, when playing King of the dragons, I can't insert coin in P2 slot.
same Quartet2.
Does the genesis multi tap work for 4 player games on this?
Its there a way to get the select button working for Snes games. I have seen a snes to genisis port converter. But I don't think the select button can be mappable.

You CAN just rename SNES roms to .fig. I think .sfc work best.
Mario Kart doesn't seem to wok
Street Fighter Alphs 2 dopes not work.

Is there a way to get save states to work with mame?
Arcade games, is there a way to at least save the high score?
Sad 😢 that Street Alpha 2 SNES .fig don't work in 2018 unit. It's only game I wanted to play the most 😆. Im hoping sfa2 will work in Mame2000 (needs be zim file?) So I put rename zim or zrm file in samples 📁 in Game 📁 or Game/Mame/Samples ?

Street Fighter Alpha 2 and other CPS2 games won't work in the MAME 2000 core. You can use the FBA core with the right romset. You must extract the ROM and then recompress it with 7zip to work.
+ Support for FBA games in 7-zip format (last character in the file name will be dropped in Menu). CPS1, CPS2 and some Neo Geo games work fine with this core (any game larger than Samurai Showdown 4 will fail to load) and you need to press DOWN + Start to insert coins (the menu option is not available)

I hope I'm doing this correctly. I'm fairly new to this customization thing, but I'm trying to see if there is any way to add some extra fighting games to my fb8650. I'm particularly looking for older versions of "XMen vs Street Fighter" or "Marvel vs Capcom". Honestly, even "PacMan" would be a welcome change. I was able to do the CFW update and can access the SD card now. I then deleted the CFW from the card. I have the card rooted to "GAME" already, but all attempts to add games in that file just give me a generic SD card icon with the file name under it, and of course, they don't load. If anyone could give me a step-by-step on adding the games correctly, I would be most appreciative.

Hello everyone, hi @rrifonas after many e-mails to AtGames I finally got access to the official "latest" (but old) FB8660B firmware which I supposed is v1.0.2 (but cannot confirm from file name).

A kind reminder that FB8660B is supposed to be Flashback Legends "2022".

However I'd like some help to unpack this IMG file and see its contents and perhaps add Atari 2600 emulator and other goodies that you managed to do yourself, your help would be very appreciated.

If someone could provide the tools to read the IMG contents, please be so kind to PM me or post here, I can spend a few hours trying :shy: The idea is that despite accepting external A26 games on SD card in a "GAME" folder, there seems to be no emulator inside... Thank you.

P.S. The reason I am asking for your help is to compare 2 x IMG files found in that shared folder from the manufacturer, there's a normal IMG file and a "PLL" IMG file, so need to compare the two to understand also what's the difference. There are people that flashed the WRONG image on their FB8660B and the fact that AtGames still don't have it appearing on https://firmwareupdate.atgames.net is rather disappointing...

No waaaaaaaaay, did they get the ROM from the actual promo cabinets? Those were basically PCs in Donkey Kong machines.

Is there a dump of it anywhere?
I know I'm almost 4 years late, but with a lot of effort, I was able to get the AtGames Fix-It Felix Jr. libretro core running under QEMU and Debian ARM64- made a thread about it here. Best I can tell from my research, I'm the first to get this running on anything besides the original AtGames hardware. It runs laggy as hell, but it should run a lot better on a Raspberry Pi; I'll try that as soon as I have a spare RPi available to test with.

Did you create a Pico emu/software update for Legends 2018? Even if it was a practice or beta, can you PM it to me so I can play 32x on my 2018 Legends Flashback (50 game).
I would like Pico for that device too.
Post automatically merged:

I was looking at my backups and I've found a 'cfw' for the Legends Flashback 2018 with Picodrive instead of Genesis Plus GX but I never released it, performance for 32x games were not great (I learned how to overclock the console later) and Game Gear was not supported at the time. Picodrive had a significant update in 2021 (1.99) which added support for Game Gear.

The cfw in the Youtube video is an expansion of my original cfw, it was created by rocketfan and draxxon and allows you to use most of the libretro cores available for these old devices. You can read the notes in the Youtube video and try to find this cfw, I'm not sure if it is still available in AtariAge.
No once Atari bought site it was erased. Can you please send me your Pico or can Drax upload his updated one here?
