My email:

Dear Wiikey
Will the upcoming patch increase the region compatibility on pal consoles?
So that we can play bleach, trauma center, naruto on a pal console?
And when will the patch be released?
Best regards
****

Hello ****
The next patch will increase region free compatibility on all regions
The next patch will enable pal users to play trauma center(US region) and Bleach
Unfortunatly we havent found a way yet to make naruto work on NTSC-U consoles nor PAL consoles
And the Patch will be released next week
Best Regards
Wiikey team

I hope its true what they say

good news for people who got PAL consoles.. not so good news for me (i own an NTSC version and i wanna play naruto soo bad!!)

OpenWii doesn't have region free *yet* but they are investigating it.

Chiip doesnt have it, and hasn't released an update in awhile.

thanks kai but i know that, i mean if i region patch the game is it compatable with all the different chips?

Well only thing keeping me away from getting a wiikey are the pal region issues with some games, if this comes true, i guess ill give wiiiiikey a try

i'm still curious weather this is just improved generic patch code which can be applied to many other region specific games, or individual game patches which happens alot on say some emulators for example..

i know they say "will increase region free compatibility on all regions", but they also then go to only state that the next patch will enable 2 specific games to run, which could indicate individual game patch routines. Either way its a good step forward, i'm just curious.

Wiikey said 24 march the update will be out next week, ít's now 4 april

Team Wiikey seem to be slow to release this, hopefully because they *have* found a way to increase the region compatibility...

Trauma Center would be cool, that's for sure!
