fea2.jpg
The Wiinja team have released information about their latest version of the Wiinja - the Wiinja Deluxe. The chip has already been released and offers a lot of improvements and new features over the original Wiinja chips. The most important being - region free (partial), ability to update the chip via DVD and the support for re-writeable DVD discs! Take a look at the list of new features below.
Team Wiinja said:
  • UPGRADEABLE by DVD

  • Boots All NTSC JAP/USA on NTSC WII

  • Boots NTSC Backups on PAL WII Partially

  • Non Swap / Direct Boot

  • Boots Own Region WII Backups Directly

  • Boots Own Region Gamecube Backups Directly

  • Boots Directly Gamecube Imports Partially

  • Boots All Gamecube Import Backups by SWAP

  • Supports all the WII Versions/Drive currently available

  • D2B Drive Support and Improved Read Method (No DRE)

  • AudioFix

  • MultiDisc/MultiGames

  • Easy Soldering & Remove / 6 Wires

  • Support DVD-R/DVD+R & DVD+RW/DVD-RW without Booktype

  • Universal EUROPE/USA/JAPAN Wii Console Supported

  • Hardware DISABLE Option Using Pin3+SW2 (Power on+Reset)

  • Stealth Mode

  • Recovery Mode for Bad Upgrade
As you can see the Wiinja Deluxe now boasts features to put it on-par with other modchips such as WiiKey and Cyclowiz. Please note that the Wiinja Deluxe is an entirely new piece of hardware, and not a just an upgrade of previous models.

I'm very tempted to buy this one
but, i would like to know more about this:

"Boots NTSC Backups on PAL WII Partially"

does this just mean some NTSC games will be booted or that some method/technique is used to allow them to boot.

I have a question: every chip now has this feature that can boot jap iso on usa wii and usa iso on jap wii. I'm italian and because of this feature i'm interested in buying a USA wii. Wiill i have any problems with shop channel, virtual consoles, or online games playing with a usa wii in italy?

Dam, i just purchased the Wiinja V2 this afternoon after finding out about the partial region free patcher. Hmm, i guess it doesn't matter too much. as long as i can play backups I'm happy. I will buy a proper chip in 6 months or so.

I'm surprised people are trying to buy this product. Isn't this the third version of the Wiinja released in the past month? Well hopefully it being upgradable will mean that early adopters won't get fucked over in 2 weeks when somehow another version of the chip hits.

All these upgrades imply to me that they are on top of things. So at the moment this would be my chip of choice. Now where to buy?

Did Cyclowiz ever get an update out?

I'm starting to feel like these companies are putting "UPGRADEABLE" on their list of features as a B.S. keyword so people will buy. Since when is a PIC upgradeable?

I'm going with the Wiip/Chiip (prolly Wiip a little more professional), and that'll be that. Cheap, quick, easy, definitely upgradeable (even if you have to remove it first), and cheap. Did I mention cheap?

From what I've heard about the Cyclowiz, its claim to being upgradable was fake. It bascally a Wiinja.

Early adopters are screwed over is all I see here. The Wii modchip scene requires patience, at least for now... :'(

@The Real Jdbye, I thought about that and I have blank DVD's and Blurays but honestly after like 90 songs I just listen to it a couple of hundred times toss it out and burn something else or have like 2-3 CD's. Florida here the heat in the car tends to ruin the CD's after like a few months even commercial pressed ones don't last too long.
