Patch updated to v3.2!
This is NOT a full translation.

Version 3.2 IS THE LAST PATCH.
There will be no more from me.

Notes:
Nobody knows if the save file for Platinum Jap will work with Platinum English. It worked for DP, but it may or may not work for this game. The sav files for the patch and the unpatched game are interchangeable.

Cheats don't work. To fix them, read through the thread. I do not support cheating in Pokemon, so don't ask me for help.

Fixed the game freeze at Giratina in the Torn World.
Fixed bug with Ultra Ball and switching out Rotom.

More info in the readme:

How to Patch
-------------------------------------
This is a very simple process. I'm avoiding the .exe
because many people had trouble with their anti-virus
software.

Extract the contents of this .rar into a folder.
Three important files you must haveL

-xdelta
-v3.pat
-DragUntrimmedROMhere.bat

All are included.

It's a simple drag and drop. Drag an UNTRIMMED,
UNPATCHED original Platinum ROM onto the DragUntrimmedROMhere.bat file.

This will create a patched file in the same directory
as the original ROM.

To use your old save, rename the new patched file to
the name of your original ROM.

This will auto trim the ROM for you.

Why not just decrypt the text files in msg.narc, theres 609 of them and using the PokeText sources loadingNOW posted on his blog a few months ago. Its easy to extract the script. Editing it would require programming knowledge though.

If you can point me where to go, I'll take a look. I heard about loadingNOW and his Poketext app, but I couldn't find it anywhere. I looked on his pokeguide site and it wasn't there. I tried to look it up on google and only found old PokeText apps that predate Pokemon DPP

Sounds cool

I'll try it, just for the heck of it

It says xdelta can not recongize as a internal or external command. Operate program or batch file.

Worked perfectly, thankyou. It would be amazing if you could get other things done like, in game battle text etc.

for those having problems:
i made a single executable out of the patch
http://ruff.freehostia.com/Pokemon_Platinum_patch_V1.exe
download that, drag the pokemon platinum rom onto it, and a patched version under a different name appears in the same folder as the original.

you only need the rom+that executable, no patch file or xdelta needed.

this is still Rykin's xdelta patch, but automated and packed into 1 single file.

how did you pack all of them in a single exe file thedicemaster?

batch to exe converter 1.4

took some time to understand that some file-location related variables don't work when using that converter, but those variables where not needed.
EDIT: trojan?
ah, the helpfile for batch to exe converter warned me for that.
it's a false positive, meaning it does something that according to some antivirus programs "might just be somewhat like a virus"
and they then say "might just be somewhat like a virus? TROJAN!"

the file is perfectly safe, worst it can do is overwrite a previously patched pokemon platinum file.
