New 3DS XL doesn't turn on anymore.

Alright everyone, a bit of backstory. I was playing a GBA Inject on my N3DSXL about 4 years ago now, and all of a sudden my console turned off (it was charging) and didn't turn on since. I tried replacing batteries, but nothing seems to seal the deal.

Please, I need your help. What do I have to do to bring it back to life? It has a lot of sentimental value.

Doesn't have a battery? Did I understand that correctly?
If so: That won't work. Insert a battery and describe what happens then.

Ordered one, it comes tomorrow, but from what I recall the result is the same.

Makes no sense trying before it arrives: Ask Nintendo why, all DS are designed to not work on external power supply only.
No battery = Not turning on

I just popped in a new battery and it worked... after 4 years...
