Uh hi when I click 'inject payload' in the app it says "Payload successfully injected" but atmosphere doesn't boot. Can anyone help me out?
Did you check to see if your console is patched or not? If you haven't, you can use the serial number to check to see if its patched or not using this thread.

Ok so I think with my end-game in mind (ie, a Switch console that can play emulated games of most previous generation consoles and play Switch ROMs/backups as well), could somebody tell me if I'd be on the right track if I followed the 2 following howto videos:

and

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkCKGPDeHtw

Now I know I'll need an external hard disk to store Switch backups and WiiU Roms for play on this console, but with the FAT32 filesystem not being capable of handling files bigger than 4gb, so I'm guessing I'll have to put the Wii library on the external drive with ths, e WiiU and Switch libraries. I'm fine with that, as I'll still have everything from the GameCube older being portable. What would I need in addition to this so I'd be able to play Switch ROMs/backups on this console?

Anyways, any input on direction would be welcome & appreciated.

I can tell you that you're already on the wrong track by following YouTube videos. They are always outdated the moment they are released and never made by any trusted people. Instead, you should always follow a written guide such as this one. Not only is it the first guide to be released but its also been regularly updated as the scene progressed. Secondly, the Switch doesn't support playing games from an HDD so you'll need to invest in an SD card in order to play backups. However none of this will be possible if your console isn't unpatched which you can check by comparing your serial number to the ones in this thread. Technically, you can still hack a patched console but it requires a modchip which in turn requires soldering.

Hello, is there any homebrew or CFW option that lets me dock the tablet and at the same time have the tablet screen working?

a save is a save once backed up, can apply it to any profile on any nand on any switch (provided you can actually get it to said any switch)

go airplane mode, hack it, create a emunand, exosphere your emunand, then turn off airplane mode.
then only ever do hacked stuff inside that emunand. never go into syscfw. only ever OFW or emunand thats it. thats the only way to 100% protect yourself from a ban.
Don’t install nsp files (hbloader only for homebrew), and don’t play an online game with cheats active or modified saves, and you’re protected. SciresM has never used emuEMMC, goes online, and has never been banned. I even have an altered BotW save file on my sysnand, and my original v1 switch is not banned.

already forgot who this is meant for (should have done multi-quotes, but I’m not going back now… thread is too long) but there is still another reason to go out of your way for an unpatched Switch: Android and Linux booting. Mariko will have support soon enough, but that currently isn’t the case yet.

Your Switch is likely patched and will require a mod chip.
I was thinking of buying an OLED for many reasons:

i

Now to the core of the question:

Where do I buy one? I found hwfly 4.1, on the well known chinese site (i dont know if I'm allowed to mention names)

I don't know if I can even ask it as I found nothing on the forum about it, so feel free to delete if necessary

Thank you everyone for your attention!
For OLED, that is not the recommended chip. There are several threads here that cover this question.

Ok, so I was able to get my Gemma M0 into UF2 Bootloader mode. First, I moved over the Fusee file, then the Gemma file after that. I noticed when I did the first file it renamed the Gemmaboot drive to Switchboot.

So, I run my switch in Autorcm and occasionally it gets stuck and won't load up Atmosphere. Next time that happens I can turn the Gemma on and plug it into my switch and it will load a payload?

Is that how it works? Is that All I needed to do? Now I just find a case?

Thanks!

I can tell you beyond the shadow of a doubt my console is unpatched. I've checked the serial # against multiple sources, and it always comes up good. This is the entire reason I bought this console in the first place. I know the modchip is next to impossible to get, so I've been after a V1 switch. Either way, my plan was to connect the USB HDD to the (OEM) dock and play games from the hard drive like that....so you say that's completely impossible no matter what? That kinda sucks, as it will severely limit what I can have on this console, but I guess I can set up multiple SD cards if need be. Once jailbroken, would RetroArch allow me to play titles from previous consoles (NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, Wii, and WiiU), and would TinFoil allow me to play Switch backups as well?

Just wanted to make sure that neither of us are wasting our time but it seems like you did your research which is a good sign.

Anyways, there is technically a way to play with games from an HDD but it involves using a CFW that is no longer supported and you can only use it to play Switch games, not any retro games. The CFW is called SX OS but I cannot even link it due to the CFW itself containing copyrighted code. I don't even recommend setting up since as I said, its no longer being supported by the people who made it.

Moving onto emulation, the Switch is actually not a good emulator. You'll be lucky to play GameCube games as not all of them are fully supported. To even achieve the best results for Gamecube emulation, you have to go outside of CFW and use Lakka which isn't the end of the world but it will make the setup a bit more complicated. You can forget about emulating Wii and Wii U games. I'm not even sure if there's any way to play them on the Switch and even if there was, they would definitely run terribly. If you're curious as to the reason, its because the hardware the Switch was built on is vastly different compared to all of Nintendo's consoles. Honestly, if you want an emulation machine on the go, a Steam Deck is much better.

just because sciresm wasnt banned doesnt mean others havent been. many have. I myself cheat (in non pvp games), run sysbots, overclock, restore saves, sell pokemon and acnh bells, run mods ect all in sysnand online and have been fine for almost 4yrs now, but that doesnt mean im safe. What i suggested to op is the 100% way to never get banned. there is a definite risk with what we're doing in sysnand you and I.

I have had this randomly happen a few times, so if you have only tried once then just try a few times (I even tried different payload injecting methods too) If it wont work no matter what then try some of the things others have suggested.

But honestly mine just did not wan't to inject heckate some times, and I'd have to switch to/from my PC and tegra from/to my rcm loader.

I'm under the impression you are not reading the guides. :teach: The answer is there: https://rentry.org/BackupRestoreNAND
Another thing
I cannot understand if I can go back flashing original fw even if the fw version is not the same as the original one
In other words: originally, I had 13 fw version. I did the back up. I made the hack, the I updated to fw version 14. Now, I can flash back the original fw or not?
If not, I can flash a new fw version, remade the back up and then flash back the back up just done?
I do not want to brick my console...I want to be 100% sure
Thank you
Regards

Just checked the thread you posted, thank you so much! I'll try to search more with better keywords!

!edit: just checked and that's apparently the same chip as I intended, the description says V4.1 but has the V4 adapter :D

V4.1 is for the lite, not the OLED. You must be looking at the USB dongle...

I confronted my picture with the recommended V4 in the thread and they are the same components, so I guess they just changed the name in the picture, I'll still look for more products on aliexpress though

i also found out there are some v5 around, like the attached picture

This is the one. I have no knowledge of this particular seller, but I paid $120 for these on 2 different occasions. This is nice, if legit. (make sure you specifically click on v4 OLED in the "color" choices). I have no knowledge or experience with the v4.1 or the v5. The v4 OLED is something I used myself, so I can say that it works, and works with the firmware that I trust: hwfly-nx 0.7.1.

Thanks! I'll make a separate thread because I noticed now the V5 is available, maybe someone has experience on it!

Sorry but since I'm new in this kind of tech I might not catch the point right away, so thank you for being patient

Hello forum !! :)
Today I am here to ask you a question.
I have a Switch OLED and a first edition Switch in my possession. After all this time I decided to hack my first edition Switch to be able to use cheats on some of my games (I'm tired of grinding and in all honesty I am too old for it). So, mostly infinite money or max consumables/materials.
All my games and DLC are 100% legit and bought from the eShop or in cartridge form.

I followed the tutorials on https://switch.homebrew.guide/hacking/fuseegelee/sdsetup and now I have Atmosphere working on my first edition Switch !! :)
I have the DNS properly setup so that my Switch cannot connect to Nintendo's servers when I run Atmosphere on it.

Aaaaand... at this point I think you can guess my question.
My main Switch is, of course, the OLED one, therefore, I cannot run the games I bought from the eShop, nor access all the legit DLC I purchased on my first edition Switch without being connected to the internet.
In order to use cheats on my games, I need to run Atmosphere on the Switch and I don't feel comfortable in NOT using the DNS in this case.
My first edition Switch is not banned and when I reset the console on the stock firmware, I remove the custom DNS, connect to the eShop, download games, DLC and updates and all works properly. Then I reapply the custom DNS and enter in Atmosphere.

The question is: can I run my legit digital games or games with legit DLC on my first edition Switch whilst it runs Atmosphere WITHOUT the need to be connected to Nintendo's servers?

I hope I have been clear enough in what I am asking :) but if you have questions, please, don't hesitate to ask me.
Thank you very very much for your help :)
