a save is a save once backed up, can apply it to any profile on any nand on any switch (provided you can actually get it to said any switch)I read a bit more about it and found out about Ckeckpoint. With that app I should be able to transfer the game saves from the one switch to the other but will these game saves be on emuNAND only or also on OFW and on sysNAND? I really want to have my Splatoon 2 gamesaves on an unbanned Switch on OFW for Splatoon 3.
go airplane mode, hack it, create a emunand, exosphere your emunand, then turn off airplane mode.Somehow my switch got banned. Maybe i have made a mistake at the beginning but now its banned. I decided to buy another unpatched switch but im not sure whether I should hack it or not. Is there a way to transfer savedata from the banned switch to the unbanned switch? Do i have to hack the unbanned switch to transfer it or not?
How can I use Hetake to flash back the backed up nand ?Sure, seeing as nothing ever worked right, you might as well start from scratch. If you made a nand backup before hacking, good for you! You were wise! Just flash it back with Hekate, and see if everything behaves like a stock Switch. After that, re-do the hacking process following a good guide. Check these. Note that the first one doesn't say anything about sigpatches, which are needed for you. If you're going to install firmware 14.1.2, use the last sigpatches from iTotalJustice, which I linked to on a previous message in this thread. I guarantee you that they work 100% (I'm using them). Once you have a good comprehension of how to hack, go ahead and try it. Keep your nand backup in a safe place, just in case.

https://switch.homebrew.guide/ -----> This one has probably the best tutorial on how to create an emummc.
I'm under the impression you are not reading the guides. How can I use Hetake to flash back the backed up nand ?
The answer is there: https://rentry.org/BackupRestoreNAND
emuMMC and sysMMC operate independently of one another. They don't share anything software related; only the hardware they run on. You have to understand though that while Checkpoint can transfer the save file, that involves hacking both consoles which means you run the risk of getting your new console banned.I read a bit more about it and found out about Ckeckpoint. Do you have the latest patches on your SD card? If not, you can download them from this thread.tinwoo just keeps sending me an ‘Invalid NCA Magic’ everytime I try to install SMO

First, never ever follow YouTube videos. They are notoriously outdated and never made by any trusted members of the community. I recommend following a written guide such as this one. Secondly, you cannot use your console to play online if you use something like 90DNS or an alternative. But bear in mind that you risk getting your console banned if you bring it online after hacking it.So i just got my rcm jig for my switch so i can finally mod it, looked up some guides of how to mod it, found a yt tutorial that is like almost 2 hours and in the description of the video it says that i should use a 90dns alternative that is built into atmosphere since 0.18.0 and i dont know which one to use, since i still wanna play with my switch online while i still got it modded. any help into it? im so confused

Just format the SD card to FAT32. You shouldn't be using exFAT as it can corrupt your SD card.Hi, following on from a previous thread on here....
finally managed to invest in a switch that is moddable, however when formatting my mico memory card to exfat I am now being asked to update the sofware on the console.
I tried to modd the console today, managed to send a payload successfully but after that I can't seem to get hetake to work and im not really sure what i need to do next after this:
https://switch.homebrew.guide/gettingstarted/checkingrcm.html
My console is moddable and currently running version 14.2 I beleive, I dont think I can continue past the test stage as my memory card is NOT being detected in the switch
is it 100% safe to update the software on this switch? Will it still be moddable?

While there is file limit size of 4 GB for FAT32 and there are many Switch games that are bigger than that, there are numerous workarounds to that restriction. You can split the game file into <4 GB chunks or alternatively, use the more popular method of USB installation.ok i hear ya but isnt there a limit on file size for fat 32?
how big are the games generally for the switch?

USB installation, as the name implies, installs game files via USB. By installing them that way, it goes around the file size limit of 4 GB with FAT32. As for the system update, while you can technically update your console, you don't need to. The reason the console wants to update the system is because the Switch doesn't come built in with exFAT support. Its a separate download that can only be done when the console is on the latest firmware.what do u mean by usb installation? and you didn't mention anything about the system udpate![]()
This is an arbitrary restriction set by Windows. You just have to use a third-party tool to format the SD card instead. I recommend using GUIformatso im trying to format the drive to fat 32 - windows 10 does not let u and when u try to format via the switch it still asks me to do a system update

That is basically what USB install means. You connect your computer via USB cable to the Switch and use a program on the computer as well as a homebrew app on the Switch to install games.Ok i will get that tool downloaded
Are u suggesting usb install
As installing directly via USB to the system memory?

You can but it will accomplish the same thing as 90DNS and prevent you from playing online. Also please use this thread for future responses. There is no need to make a new thread nor continue using your newly created thread.i looked into the forum about the written guides. could i use this one here and use DNS MITM instead of 90dns like the guide in this link says?
Switch games come in a very large variety of sizes. While some can be as big as 20 GB, others are as small as less than 1 GB.gotcha - very limited space? but at this stage im not really sure just how big the switch games actually are?!
i know on the wii u there were some very large games and fat32 would never have been suffiecient enough
this sounds like a limitation when compared to modding the wii u.You can but it will accomplish the same thing as 90DNS and prevent you from playing online. Also please use this thread for future responses. There is no need to make a new thread nor continue using your newly created thread.
