Hello all. I had a question about the DLC for Animal Crossing New Horizons. A few weeks ago I got a hacked switch and was dumping my games, updates, and dlc’s. I logged in to my v1 switch and set it to my primary so I can download my digital purchases and dump my title keys.

I’ve been playing ACNH in yuzu, its been working well. The game is updated to 2.0.5, and in yuzu it shows that the dlc is installed. If its important, in the yuzu menu it says “DLC (301)”

So this whole time I’ve assumed that the acnh dlc is installed and I’ve just been waiting on progressing through the necessary events until I can access it. I’ve met all the in game requirements, and thats what prompted me into looking more into it. In searching, I’ve seen that there should be a little house icon next to the version number. I loaded up the game on my wifes v2 switch, and do see it there, but on yuzu, I dont see it next to the version number.

Did I do something wrong in dumping the dlc? The files I dumped with the v1 switch are the base acnh, which is 6.23gb, the update is 3.95gb, and the dlc file that was dumped is 119kb. They all installed fine, but like I said, I just cant seem to access the dlc. Any help is appreciated.

And just to add, I have 2 other games that have dlc that I dumped and installed into yuzu. Tetris 99 and Snipperclips, and they both seem to register/work. I can access the 2 player mode in the tetris 99 dlc, and on the snipperclips menu it does say ‘plus’ next to the title.

Anyways, any help is appreciated, thank you!

Edit: I saw that the dlc I had installed was for the nook rug, and the happy home paradise is dlc 1000. I went back to nxdumptool, and saw that on the dlc, you could select different ones. I didnt have any other game that has multiple dlc's, so I didnt know about that. Anyways, thank you still!

Nope. NXDumptool is absolutely the right tool for the job. Your keys file should already be in /switch/ so there’s nothing else to do with them for now.

BTW i refer to this when dumping:

https://suchmememanyskill.github.io/guides/switchdumpguide/

not for a step by step because I don’t change my hekate_ipl.ini or any of the other stuff…mostly for the right boxes to tick while dumping.

I’m assuming you are not messing with any games installed in Sysnand and are offline!

Step 2: The Dump

Instructions (Digital based dump)

  1. Launch into EmuMMC cfw via hekate <—-Modified from Orig instructions…do not boot Sysnand!
  2. Open the Homebrew Menu and open nxdumptool
  3. Select Dump installed SD card / eMMC content
    • Note: to dump an update for a gamecard game, press Y to access the orphan title list.
  4. Select the game you want to dump, then select Nintendo Submission Package (NSP) dump
  5. If prompted, select Dump base application NSP (Redo section if there's also an update to dump)
  6. Turn the following options on: Split output dump (FAT32 support), Remove console specific data, Generate ticket-less dump and Change NPDM RSA key/sig in Program NCA. <——boxes to tick here!
  7. Select Start NSP dump process
  8. After this is done, either dump your game update too, or return to the homebrew menu by pressing + (Don't forget to reboot into EmuMMC!!)
Your game dump got dumped in the /nxdumptool/nsp folder

Once you’re at this point you can test recovery of one of your less critical games by deleting the entire thing using “Data Management“ in the Switch menu and then reinstalling from your new .nsp file in /nxdumptoo/nsp/

if they don’t install right it will only impact the one game and not corrupt your SD card or anything. Just delete it again from “Data Management“ again should anything go sideways and you can’t launch the game.
thanks very much ! Will try restoring !

No you're 100% right. Things are not looking good at all.

Any suggestions on a quick fix? Luckily, I can still access the SD without any issues. HERE is my current folder profile.

Didn’t see the pic. if you can still read the SD card we might have a long shot. Are you using a Mac or PC?

I was able to confirm that while Tinwoo will install a corrupted game in Applet mode at 400M (game won’t start) a 100M game like Othello (smallest game in the Switch Library, I believe) works just fine.

So yeah…final answer…

Use Tinwoo in Applet mode to install a 100M game (Othello) for your first game.

Once this is done you will be able to hold down “R” throughout the start of your game to do a Title Override.

This will get you into HB Menu with full memory available which will allow you to install Tinfoil.nro

I don’t understand why would game go corrupted because no full ram access? Is rest of memory card ok.

Did you test Othello in applet mode?

I imagine it goes something like this…it does it’s best to install but at some point runs out of memory and stops installing . A game only partially installed would fail any checks they have in place.

Othello worked perfectly. Try it.

Good thread on fan control here: https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-adjust-the-nintendo-switch-fan-speed.576561/

there are some over clocking threads that have some fan speed info in them as well…

I'm currently trying to transfer my emuNAND save of Pokémon: Legends Arceus to sysNAND but no matter what I do my save isn't getting overwritten. Before this I transferred my MK8DX save with no issues. I do this by mounting sysNAND to my PC and then I overwrite my save file from emuNAND but this is having no effect for PLA. I know I'm overwriting the correct save but it just gets set back to the dummy save I created on sysNAND. Do I need to completely delete my PLA dummy save off sysNAND first before transferring my emuNAND save or is there something I'm missing? I've seen people say they transferred their emuNAND saves over for PLA so I know it's possible.

Ok so I be able to install that installer that game and that I get full tittle access ?

Going to mod my daughters switch, It’s unpatched, I’ve checked the serial number on the internet. It’s going to be for my own use as she’s off to uni and said I could have it so it’s over to you guys, any help and advise on this will be very much appreciated

Good deal. A unpatched V1 Erista with emunand is pretty straightforward. Take a look here: https://rentry.org/SwitchHackingIsEasy

Thanks - I tried this (using nsi and nxbootdump).
While it worked - I must be missing something on the keys - when you see the below...
It looks like the signatures are seen as invalid first time, but then it was ok the second time.
But now im thinking that if my switch/card was formatted, it would just not work.
However - the restore did work - and I can play the game ?

Pretty sure this is due to the Generate ticket-less dump option. Change it to off instead of on and dump the game again. This time it should install without any signature errors.

edit:

trying to duplicate this with another game and not able to achieve the same results. Diving in a little deeper here…
