Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp delayed following "recent world events"

adedat.png

Nintendo has pushed back the release date of Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp, previously scheduled for launch next month. The reason for the delay was, "in light of recent world events", and sees the remake being delayed indefinitely for now. Nintendo says to stay tuned for a new release date. The game was already delayed once before, having been originally set for a December 2021 launch.

Will games like Call of Duty also indefinitely delay their games too...let's hope so!
Activision doesn't strike me as a company that would care about the state of the world when they release their games, just so long as it will make money. Ironically, I could see a gritty realistic new CoD releasing tomorrow, while Nintendo is holding off on releasing a cartoonish tactical war rpg next month. Not saying either approach is "correct," I think you can just glean a lot about these companies' values from how they'd approach such things.

Really guys?
It's understandable why they'd delay the game. Haven't you checked the internet recently? With all the campaigns that ask for donations to support Ukraine?
Considering how easily any big-publisher game can be treated with controversy nowadays, it's no surprise Nintendo would rather avoid risks right now.
Have a heart, accept their decision, and wait until the new release date.
Seriously.

how about they cancel it altogether and just make a new advance wars
Not like the originals were dying for a remake or anything
has long it's not the last game where it's in a doomed world and stuff i want a new one with the old cast.

I agree on this. I think people forget the game is probably already done with development, judging by the release date previously assigned. I mean, i wouldnt be surprised if this is true, it has happened before.

Believe it or not, even of its fiction, art is a reflection of reality, and the problem here is that the game takes a certain instance in regards of the enemies which we should remember are russians too. I dont think Nintendo wants to do something that may be taken as an insult or taking sides, which could be a very problematic thing right now. Maybe its an excuse, but some people assume a lot and forget that Nintendo is a family friendly company, this decision isn't really surprising honestly
If publishers have to be extra cateful what they release doesn't offend someone then they'd go bankrupt because there's always some who feel the product hurts their feelings.

Moreover, if they were to takeba "side" then they'd need to make that announcement. A game by its own doesn't mean they're taking a side.

God damn humanity and their need to take sides, now we see why outer space beings don't visit us.

I really doubt this game isn't done at this point. It's a remake of 2 simple GBA games and already faced a delay.

I think it's a bit silly for a cartoony war tactical RPG to be affected by what Russia is doing. But I respect the decision all the same, it's certainly in line with Nintendo's values in general.
Really low bar for respect you have...
