Hello, I have a question. I managed to update the system firmware as well as I'm using the latest atmosphere update and all, however everytime I try to open a game, even from cart to enter the homebrew without memory limitation, I cannot open it as the system is asking for a system update despite being on the latest firmware...

Is this is some Nintendo thing to prevent the use of homebrew? Or I am missing some steps?
I'm using my old switch that removed my accounts to a new one I got; so I'm still able to see the games I played. Should I factory reset the switch?

Hello there. I used SX in the past and is currently switching to Atmosphere. I followed the NH server github switch guide to install Atmosphere and launched it using Hekate & emu MMC

I am now at FW 13.2.1, ATMOSPHERE v1.2.6

I tried installing Tinfoil but it didn't work with both the selfinstaller and the applet mode, so I installed a sigpatch from for-atmosphere-hekate-fss0-fusee-package

I was then able to install Tinfoil 13.0.0 and have downloaded NUT 3.3. But I seem to have 2 problems:
1. After the sigpatch, the option to launch "Atmosphere FSS0 EmuMMC" is no longer available, I get the "CFW emuMMC" instead and have been running this. Is this normal? The Current system version is still the same as before though.
2. When using Tinfoil to try to install games via USB, the usbfs part of file explorer either is empty or freezes when I select it (NUT already connected). I tried reinstalling the Tinfoil driver using guides on youtube but it didn't seem to work.

Much appreciated if anyone could help me regarding these matters. Thanks.

Cool! Yes, it booted the latest fusee and the S means you are on the SysNand (we want to get you to an E for emunand)

Assuming you’re starting from scratch, grab a good guide and finish this thing.

Getting there slowly..I think I have Erista
So I can boot into Atmosphere now, and have made a backup (partitioned sd card etc.).
I can see that
System update is 13.2.1AMS 1.2.6 E :grog:

Bit more tricky now. The (helpful) guide refers to SigPatches - and I've done a lot of searching on the net and can't find anything available (loads of broken links).

I did find aio-switch-updater and can see this in hbmenu/ - but it seems to freeze when I try choosing any options.
but I think I might be doing something else wrong - as I can't get tinfoil running either. I see it in hbmenu but just get an error 2155 8007.
(odd that DBI appears to work - i've not made a backup of my roms yet and can't test fully.

So - (and im on the latest version of atmosphere - will not installing these sigpatches be a problem?). Have I missed a step in aio-switch-updater ?
Thanks in advance
Mark

Sigpatches will solve most of this. Download patches from this thread.

are you keeping your Sysnand lower than your emunand on purpose? If you are going to be using your GameCard it will be better if they match. You can upgrade your Sysnand using the standard Nintendo update method located in Settings.

what are your nogc settings in /atmosphere/config/bct.ini?

Atmosphere/config template/ bct.ini

BCTO

[stage1]

stage2_path = atmosphere/fusee-secondary.bin

stage2 mtc_path = atmosphere/fusee-mtc.bin

stratosphere.ini

You have a mix of old and new settings.
You can remove /atmosphere/config/BCT.ini as new version uses only /atmosphere/config/stratosphere.ini.
If you want to use your game card in CFW you need to put a line in stratosphere.ini that does not start with a ; semicolon and just says nogc=0.
You can also remove /sept and make sure your /bootloader/hekate_ipl.ini is using the entries shown in https://rentry.org/SwitchHackingIsEasy.

Just in a funky state. Not Ninty doing anything to you. Try (re)updating your FW using Daybreak. I don’t think you need a factory reset…yet.

Hello :)

My SD Card is out of space and i want to ask if it's possible to install games on intern Memory ?

Are they visible on ofw? If they were installed via awoo or such apps?

Thx

Pretty sure (95%?) you would need to remove your SD card to install in System memory. If you boot CFW with emunand you will not be able to see these Sysnand games. Installing arrr-ware on your sysnand is almost a guaranteed ban (99.999%+!) so I think a more effective route would be to do a bit for bit copy of your current SD card to a newly purchased but larger SD card and then expanding your FAT32 partition using your favorite partition manager.

Thx....hmm..--yes i would do so, but need a bit of money to get a new SD ;)

this is part of your Hekate config. You create the entries you’d like in /bootloade/hekate_ipl.ini.

2. When using Tinfoil to try to install games via USB, the usbfs part of file explorer either is empty or freezes when I select it (NUT already connected). I tried reinstalling the Tinfoil driver using guides on youtube but it didn't seem to work.

Did you reboot your machine afterwards?

Okay, thanks. Then I will keep it that way.

I did reboot the machine, like before, it alternates to the state where show new games on switch Tinfoil (sorry I forgot to mention this before), but when I select usbfs, it just freezes.

Did you update the drivers in Device Manager for the Switch or APX device? (Might have to have the switch plugged in to see the device.)

Are there any other drivers to update besides Tinfoil?

I have tried stuffs and successfully installed games via the New Games menu of Tinfoil, but usbfs still freezes. As for the empty usbfs, I had to reinstall the driver when the switch every single time I want to open tinfoil. Is it usual to have it like this? Thanks

No, it’s not typically like that. Maybe you remove the device in Device Manager and force Windows to add the device again?

Another thing you could try is this and see if another tool will work (this will prove/disprove if the issue is on the Windows side):

Sigpatches will solve most of this. Download patches from this thread.
Thank you so much for this - amazing help you're providing here (I'd have never worked this out). Some progress made...
After downloading the patches - I have Got tinfoil available and an xci of a game I have. the xci is now copied to my SD card.
In tinfoil - I can see the 'install' option in the bottom right of the screen (and a picture of the game in the background).
But when i try to install. there is no response -
There is a collection of dots in the bottom left which looks like some sort of progress/active indicator. This constantly moves in a pattern -so i don't think the switch has crashed (but really not sure)
I've let it run for an hour and the xci is less than 1gb - Am I being too impatient ?

update - rebooted and looked up the Console option in TINFOIL. Only error I can see is 'Could not open cnmt ca'
Will carry on having a look round - but please do say if there's something obvious here.
Thanks
Mark.

Were you able to inject fusee.bin (instead of Hekate) like @Draxzelex recommended? The reason we want you to try that is it completely bypasses hekate and its configs on your SD card and boots straight into Atmosphere on Sysnand. It will prove/disprove any non-working components and clear the path for next steps…

“When you went to download Atmosphere from its GitHub page, there was another thing you can download called fusee.bin. Its a payload similar to Hekate. Try sending that instead of Hekate; its designed to automatically launch Atmosphere.”

When trying to inject fusee.bin I just got the same fetal error message I was getting before.
