That is not going to fit.
Can already tell you that.
How big is it?

EDIT: NVM, I just bought one where the Amazon reviews actually say it fits in the ps2.

EDIT 2: I just cancelled the whole thing and got the SATA adaptor plus a SATA HDD that's confirmed to work. It's 1TB too.

What? Just throw FreeMCBoot/FreeHDBoot on it and call it a day.
It will only work if the memory card properly implements MagicGate.
SD card wired to SIO2? That is possible; look at the last post on the first page.
SD card+MCU for switching between SD/MC mode? Impractical for most purposes, as it requires additional hardware.

He said "even with all these". So I assume he meant the SD version, a real MagicGate MC, or a Hard Drive.

I'm a lucky slim boi, because my network setup includes a modem-router with a USB port. Lets me use SMB to access my flash drive without having to leave a PC or my Xbox to host it - and that flash drive can be NTFS too.

Unfortunately, the only "spare" hardware I have is a Belkin F5D7230 version 4000. If it supported wireless bridging either officially or with something like DD-WRT, I'd be golden for using it as a Wi-Fi adapter and hoofing the PS2 anywhere in the house. But it doesn't. Still got it pretty gud.

Posting late but this idea is going to happen soon, it's called the MX4SIO or SIO2SD, and it's basically an SD gecko for the PS2, although it's a little bit different because like some one said earlier the Wiring on the PS2 memory card isn't exactly the same so it needs at least a single 5000 ohm resistor.

Thanks for sharing this link. I wasn't even aware of this until this post. I do know that the PSX has something similar already available called the MEMCARD PRO: https://8bitmods.com/memcard-pro-for-playstation-1/

So I was thinking about somthing and for all you Flashcart sellers and hardmodders take a note! Ok the GameCube had Unofficial Memcards with SD slots in them, The PlayStation2 is getting ready to be 20 years old in 2 more years (I'm Old) and for some people who want to relive "childhood memories" would get one they got the wires and the controller but there disc/memory card ect is missing

This is where a PS2 memory card with a SD slot comes in handy

You would download the FMCB installer and install it on your SD card

So just an idea
why bother when you can copy games to the ps2 hdd adapter, and i guess for slims its cheap enough to just esr patch iso files and burn, or you could stream over your network.

Relying on the DVD drive isn't a good, no it's a terrible long term solution. Especially with Burned discs that may depending on the brand cause wear and tear on the laser.

I wasn't aware that something like that even existed for the PS1.

Someone on eBay is selling systems modded with an SD Card adapter for the SCPH-7000X series systems that use the IDE interface those models still have.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/393251238563

This seems to be the closest to an ODD (it is not really an ODD) we will be until the team behind PSIO makes their PS2 version they are working on.

Of course a proper SCPH-5000X system with HDD adapter is the best route although it is larger in size. Using a 5000X does not lose the drive functionally and all PS1 disc support outside of what PopStarter can run from HDD like the SD mod system does.

Here is a (german) Manual for the SD Mod:

7000x Series Only ! :)

Although Since many units have a Dead optical drive there isn't much lost from installing an ODD, otherwise SD loader wouldn't be so popular in the GameCube Scene.
