Did you have Atmosphere and Hekate on your SD card before? If the answer is yes, how did you update the files?
  • No CFW automatically enables AutoRCM. The firmware installers ChoiDujourNX and Daybreak are the only tools that automatically enable AutoRCM
  • What "R" are you speaking of?

Ok, so I just tested and it's not enabled, after a full power down I was in stock & had to use the jig & dongle to get back to atmosphere. So can atmosphere reboot into itself? It definitely went straight back to atmosphere after the update and reboot with daybreak. SXOS+ChoiDujourNX always rebooted into stock after update (if you didn't have autorcm on).

This R at the bottom (or at least it looks like an R) I assume it's just part of the splash screen, but thought I'd ask if it was indicating anything.

Well if you don't have AutoRCM on, of course it will reboot into stock because AutoRCM prevents you from being able to boot stock in order to boot into RCM. As for your question, yes Atmosphere can reboot into itself which is dictated by what payload is in the atmosphere folder and is named reboot_to_payload.bin. Vanilla Atmosphere has it set to fusee but you can change it to any payload you like. And the answer to your other question is that is the logo of the team developing Atmosphere, ReSwitched.

Thanks, that answers that then. I was confused and thought it had come on, as I don't think sxos can reboot into itself (or at least didn't when I last updated or maybe I hit powerdown instead of reboot in ChoiDujourNX, so long I can't remember).

Hi guys, I think I mess things up and I need help.

I got a new micro SD card, after a couple of problems I format it as FAT32, 32k asign, I partition the card inside hekate (29 GB), create the emuMMC, enable it, select launch and this is where my problems begin.

  1. In launch I got 4 options: CFW (sysMMC), CFW (emuMMC), Stock, and Fusee. I first try Fusee but I got an error

ERROR Fatal error: [NXBOOT] Failed to mount EmuMMC from SD card partition!
    Press POWER to reboot.

I had to force turn off.

  2. I restart and select emuMMC. Error again

    Unknown pkg1 version.
HOS version not supported! or emuMMC currupt!
    Trying backup bootloader...
    Found pkg1( ' ')

    Unknown pkg1 version.
HOS version not supported! or emuMMC currupt!
Failed to launch HOS! Press any key...)

If I press a key I got back to hekate menu.

  3. I try sysMMC and I got to main Switch menu. I enter HB menu trough gallery in applet mode, installed Sonic with Awoo, and when I try to enter HB menu with full memory I got a message saying something about verifying if my Switch if allowed to run the game, but then it required internet access. I thought "maybe I need updated sigpatches for hekate (normally I use Fusee-primary and my sigpatches are for it)", so I config my internet access and try updating the sigpatches using sigpatch-updater but I was running it in applet mode, so I try again to get full memory for HB and again the message about verifying if the Switch is allowed to run that game (Sonic), and then before I could do something the console update itself and restart.
  4. Soooo, what the hell happen?, I think I have a bad micro SD card.
  5. How do I fix it?
  6. Is my Switch banned now?
  7. How do I know if my console is banned?
  8. I was not planning updating by official ways, but when I try to do it using ChoiDujourNX and Daybreak, they both ask for the offline update files... Where do I get them?, or I'm doing something wrong?

  • The only potential reasons people are using fusee_primary is because they prefer a vanilla Atmosphere or they want to use DZ since it doesn't support Hekate or more specifically fss0

Scires has said daybreak doesn't touch the boot0/1 files and only installs the firmware but not touching autorcm ;)

You don't need a clean emuMMC backup. I have no idea why they recommend that because a clean backup is only useful for going online and not switching CFW. Just follow those guides but ignore that step.
Thank you so much for clarifying that for me! I don't care about going online because I play single-player games only.

If you have few mins, do you have a link to the tutorial that you recommend?

Thank you!

Yes and no. It is disabled as a measure to stop the gamecard firmware from upgrading - which if it does will make you unable to boot on 4.1 - your best bet is to just use nsp's on your emunand

hi everyone, i am new to switch cfw. i need help on changing sxos to atmosphere

so i bought a switch lite with sxos using sxos core. currently the ofw is on 10.20.0

i have 2 mmc
one with emunand and fw 10.0.2 for playing "free" games and cfw purpose

the second one doesn't have emunand and i use it to play online game in ofw mode (i know the risk)

i realized now that the latest ofw 11.0.1 makes sxos useless and there is no sign of support. so I decide to change to atmosphere. but i have some questions

1. does atmosphere have ofw mode that can be use to play online?

2. can i use my save from sx os emunand in atmosphere emunand?

3. can i use my sxos emunand for atmosphere or i should create it again?

4. does atmosphere now support xci? if yes, can i play it without installing it like on sxos?

5. i have read that dual boot is available so i can keep both sxos and atmosphere. cmiiw payloads is used for booting right? i don't have any payloads right now. the boot just go to sxos menu

what payload should i use so i can switch between

sx os emunand
sx os ofw
atmosphere emunand
atmosphere ofw

Hi everyone! Long time lurker but created an account today and am going to get into the switch hacking scene cause why the hell not!? I have had some experience getting homebrew and usb backups working with my Wii (years ago) so have some understanding on how things work but wow, the switch is very different.

I am planning on following a guide from github (unable to post a link cause I'm brand new, but can give more details or be more specific with what guide I'm using later on I guess) and have an rcm jig arriving in the mail later today. The guide runs through everything from entering rcm to creating a NAND backup, creating emuNAND, dumping keys, etc.

My switch is unpatched as I got it a few days after launch. I am also running the latest firmware (11.0.1 I believe).

I just wanted to clarify a few things before I get started. I have looked through the FAQ and read several pages from this thread but naturally I can't really go through all of it as I would die of old age before I finished reading it all haha. Anyway... Here we go:

I am to understand that sx os is no longer supported, (RIP xecuter :( ) and also not available for my firmware anyway, so I will use atmosphere.

I won't be able to load xci with atmosphere and will have to convert them to nsp to install, and that tinwoo is able to do this? Not totally sure if I can have the xci on the SD card or if I will have to use nsusbloader to send them over from my PC.

I am not planning on using the switch online while using atmosphere, so I will have to install my homebrew apps via USB loading (maybe called payload injection? Not sure as I haven't actually started messing around with it yet).

I would like the option to play online if I so choose. My understanding is I can simply power off the switch, remove the SD card, and turn it on and it will load into stock firmware, then it is safe to use the internet. I have already copied Mario kart over to my system memory, as everything else I plan on playing will remain on the SD card and I'll just be playing single player offline.

To get back to cfw I can just delete my wifi connections, power off, put in my SD card, put in the jig to enter rcm and boot atmosphere from emuNAND and then I'm good to go as everything will be installed to the SD card.

Lastly, the jig is only required to enter rcm and once the switch is there I can remove it? Some of the guides aren't very clear on when I can remove the jig and slide my joycon back on.

Sorry for the wall of text, just wanna be sure I'm heading in the right direction! Thanks to everyone for all of the info so far. Excited to get started! :)

I am having a issue with my switch stuttering when playing some games like Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity (stutters every 8 seconds with audio and video lag) & Persona 5 Strikers where it will stutter audio and video bad when loading screen or playing a video tutorial in game. Is this a microsd card issue? I am using latest SXOS emmunand with exFAT. Anything to try or test? Thanks

Updated to latest Switch firmware but now every time I open an app the system tells me "ready to start system update", is there any way to remove this?

Yes, if you have or install Goldleaf... Open Goldleaf, goto "Console and Goldleaf settings", then goto "Firmware and Updates", then select "Delete Pending update". Done! Now stay offline or it will alert you again to update.

Hello, does anyone know how to make an EmuMMC via backup files in HEKATE?? My eMMC fried and I get the "cant init eMMC" error. I know you can change the eMMC, but in my country is difficult to obtain one.

It broke because it run out of battery the same moment I unlocked it, after that black screen, I injected the payload to hekate, then CFW but the message is always the same. I tried to make the emuMMC with dd and the backup files, but no luck.

Or does anyone have another solution for that? Thanks.

Hey

I picked up a 1st gen switch for $150. I know its able to be hacked on lower firmware but it is at 11.0.1. I saw a couple of video saying you can install CFW but us that true?

If is hackable it will be hackable on any FW, the type of hack will vary depending on FW version. Caffeine only up to FW 4.

You should launch in non-applet mode. Hold down the top R trigger and press A on any game title on main menu while holding down the R until homebrew screen shows, then launch homebrew title.
