@MasonArcher, @ELon: I’m just gonna take a stab and guess you guys are both using the default drive for internal storage, then trying to launch bigger stuff from your external drive. Try clearing space out from internal storage (remove all your roms) and see if that makes your content start working again from external. If it does, I’d advise expanding your storage space, then creating a folder in the RA directory on S:, launching RA as a Game and point to the new folder you made, then just dump your content there. This works around the space limitation in the default RA directory.

On my phone now, but I can give more detailed instructions next time I’m at my laptop if you need them.

hi all, sorry if this has been answered already, but wondering if anyone can help with optimum core settings .... i installed Retroarch on my XBOX ONE S and was able to update, play games via USB, etc , but i noticed Dreamcast games were running quite slow. The same games work flawless on my Raspberry pi4 so i tweaked the Core Options & through trial and error i think i have it working at the proper speed now. I tried the same for PSP but now i have a black screen & can hear the game sound in the back ground (worked before i started messing with it !)

has anyone figured out what Core Options to modify for each system, to use all the raw processing power of the XBOX ONE S ?

I have found a guide for PSP (pic embeded) & will trial error it (will post results ASAP), but wanted to see if anyone has mapped out already, thanks in advance !

So I have a series s. I had successfully uploaded all the games I wanted and then kept all my gamecube and ps1 games on a USB as they take the most space. Everything has been working for awhile now. Gamecube and playstation games playing flawless. Went to sleep last night everything working now all a sudden today my gamecube and playstation games wont play off usb. Keep in kind up until today they worked great and I didnt change anything. What happened ?
Hard to say has ive have the same type of problem, I have a Series X and my psp and ps2 iso's were fine. Now they don't load. The app just closes out or hard locks and resets my system. Are you in retail or dev mode? I haven't checked lately but it seemed to be that way for me in both modes now. I haven't tried uninstalling it yet with a fresh one, kinda sucks.

Guys You're hitting 2gb limit of retroarch thats why You can't play more. Retroarch makes copy of the game from USB to its internal memory. After hitting limit 2gb game won't load till You delete the copy from retroarch folder (local state).

Does Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door freeze at the dock in the prologue? I've tried different isos and it seems to freeze at the same spot. Anyone else get this game to run? Series X btw.

N64 runs ok but its a bit glitchy in nearly all games.

Duckstation is perfect at 1080p for most games. Only game I have that needs to be 720p is Alone in Dark New Nightmare as it slows down at times when 1080p.

Alien Resurrection runs almost consistent 60fps when overclocked 200% at 1080p.

Mortal Kombat 4 looks glorious at 1080p with 10x disc speed and Jinc filter with widescreen hack and very little load times at these settings.

Jinc filter dramatically improves the look of 3d polygon games but can be glitchy on some, so for those better to use bilinear.

Another question, I've got Dirge or Cerberus running on the Series X the thing is ita kinda slow. I can't access quick menu the game just pauses, like its in quick menu but doesn't ever go to it. Seems to be only when using the PS2 core. Is there a way to access the core settings without loading a game up change settings?

also gonna install twilight menu in my r4 flashcard
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
i dont have an sd card adapter but I have an usb sd card adapter
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    Old people games
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Try Wood firmware
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    For your R4
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
It's old but it's the best firmware out for DS stuff
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    nvm it does support mine
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
but why choose it over ysmenu @Psionic Roshambo?
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    bc im stupid?

    yea ik im stupid
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    good night
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Slightly slower loading but a bit more convenient
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
