From the feedback from Chinese users, someone with an older SD card took about 18 seconds to load a 4MB game, and when he switched to SANDISK Red 32GB, it took less than 4 seconds.

Yeah but do you know why FW5 does not work on my card since my SD card is fast enough?

@EZ-Flash2 it is possible make an option for turn off the RTC like the Ez-Flash Omega in a near update?

Why would you want that?

I'm sure flash cart makers could make carts that use significantly less power, if they really tried to optimize it for efficiency at the hardware level. They shouldn't use more power than regular carts, or you're doing something wrong.

I don't think you get the point. RTC mostly uses the internal battery for power. It would run decades continuously on a couple of AA batteries.

Compared to OMEGA's solidly soldered battery, I don't think Junior's replaceable battery is a concern at all for its consumption.

That would be great Willi! I am a bit afraid of updating to the beta firmware, so an official and more refined firmware would be great! My best wishes to you and your country Willi
Refined? Good! But saving states and cheat support would be appreciated. Saludos a todos los chilenos.

Our RTC design prohibits writes to registers, which keeps all games from interfering with the RTC, but Prism requires writes to the RTC registers, which we need to evaluate further.

If you are not in desperate need of playing RTC games or a user of a particular batch of Gameboy Color, please stay with Firmware 4 and Kernel 1.04e!

The current beta version has both RC and SGB versions available for installation. These versions are for advanced users only and are not recommended for general users.
both version have known issue: if user does not have an enough fast speed SD card. it will halt in LOADING or OSINIT screen after upgrade.

If you don't have a high speed SD card and have inadvertently upgraded to FW5 and K105 RC and are stuck in the LOADING or OSINIT interface. send a private message to me, I will give you the recovery tool.

Having an eye on this and the current issues. I first wanted to get the Everdrive GB X7 but it's ridiculously expensive and used it's extremely hard to find for a reasonable price. If the Junior gets all the issues fixed and reaches the same compatibility of the X7 i will consider buying it.

Did anyone compare power usage original vs. X7 vs. Junior yet?

Emulators, when faced with this problem, keep each game's RTC state separately and handle the RTC through an offset. That way they can present a proper MBC3 RTC to the games while not changing the system time. Would you perhaps be able to do something similar?

That's software vs hardware
