This one is getting really close! One final issue to work out and I think it's ready for beta.
You should seek out some of the cool stuff that was done for this little baby computer: PAC-MAN homebrew takes the MC-10 to the limits, S.U.K.S is a fun little semi-graphics shooter, Dragon's Castle 2020, MC Bouncy Ball, Berzerk and Meteor are some of my favs.
I'll have code up in a day or two.. but if you have the ability to star my lonely repository, that would be splendid:
Hey guys, sorry I haven't been very active on the forum lately. My real life has been very hectic lately, but I've been following the news, and wow! What news!
A huge thank you to you, Dave. Once again, you've prepared a little gem for us. It's so cool!
For those wondering what games I'll be able to play on this emulator, here's the answer in a video. One year ago, a french YouTuber made a video about the Tandy MC-10 and the Matra Alice 4K (its French clone):
Personally, I have a soft spot for Inufuto games, which can be found here:
It's the version of MCXBASIC from the MCX-128 project. MAME supports it as well. It requires MCX.ROM with the exact checksum as mentioned in my readme file. There is precious little that needs MCXBASIC - so it might not be worth tracking down.
Not a lot changed with version 1.1... I've added 60Hz 'true-sync' that synchronizes the LCD drawing of the MC-10 emulation with the DS to provide for a nearly tear-free experience. I also used a graphical touch-up editor to sharpen the text and edges on the MC-10 virtual keyboard to improve it slightly. Otherwise, most everything is running quite well here.
Of the 11 DS emulators I've developed, this one is the least popular with barely 50 downloads in 1 year. But it's a labor of love...
