Have got a PS vita on firmware 3.68 and using h-encore to play backups etc.

what would be the best advice to do with this now? I notice there is new firmware 3.71, should I stay off that, or upgrade? also can games be played online with this?

I'd also suggest taking a look at the Vita hacks guide and downgrading.
3.60 is the golden firmware.

Edit: don't use ReF00D, the dev even points this out on the github page, use 0syscall6 instead.

thanks for the replies.

Just a quick question: I am using a microSD card to psvita gamecard adaptor, and my "ux0" is on the SD card.

so for exmple, I did not have to use FTP client or USB cable to transfer modoru.vpk or PSP2UPDAT.PUP, I simply powered the system down, pulled sd card out, put it into my PC and copied those files over.

is this process of downgrading firmware going to be ok with it set like that, or should this be reverted and done with the proper PS vita storage card as ux0?

You're supposed to disable plugins when downgrading from what I remember.

Nice. The Vita I have is like 3.03 or something.

Haven't really used it as I meant it to sell it later, but might eventually use it. It came with an 8GB card so that's something.

ok, so I simply removed my psvita gamecard with the SD card in (after copying those 2 files from the sd to vitamemory card), then started the system up with only the real vita memory card in it, launched h-encore, fine.

when I launch vitashell, it says my ux0 is now the vita memory card...I'm good to go?

ok, when launching modoru, i'm getting "disable all your plugins first before using this software".

when you say press L while boot, do you mean when launching H-encore? Because in the guide they say to hold R while you're launching it.
