I had XCI, emunand and cheats first as a result of pay-for solutions. You don't have to like TX or Gateway. Hell, I don't much like them. But they've certainly added features that may or may not have been made by OSS devs w/o having been added to the pay solutions first.

Disagree all you like, but no one wins with less choice, even closed sourced solutions.
I couldn't care less for your opinion, pal. If you do so many bad things for so many years, don't expect decent people to feel sorry for you when you get what you deserve.

I'm perfectly fine, champ. I use Hekate and dual-boot into either SXOS or Atmosphere. The price for the license has resulted in significant value, even if it never receives another update. Luckily, I've got a v1, so I'm good if it never does again. I can't say the same for those with Mariko and Lite units if another updates never comes (and I think updates will likely still come, just after a wait). Those folks were provided a solution as a result of a pay-for hack - and right now, they're the only show in town. So, and I'll say it again, no one wins with less choice, however distasteful you or I find the competition.

Also, a bit of a note. Believe me or don't, but it's been true since I've reached the point in my career to more than afford my games, more than 20 years now, I haven't pirated a single game on either the Switch or the 3DS (or any modern system for that matter). I use the hacks for, first and foremost, not needing to carry a pile of games when I travel for business (for non-digital purchases, which is most since I don't like Nintendo's online policies), single-player cheats (especially since I've got a nephew that we care for that has disabilities), save modifications, and Emunand (so no one accidentally goes online). That said, I pirate some games for discontinued systems that are no longer easily accessible, such as for the Gamecube or PSP.

fuses dont burn in sxos
even if you use the chip and boot original firmware then update they dont burn

genuine boot burns fuses tho

Yeah, but booting original firmware through some "custom bootloader" and not the official which will burn it.We can even update sysnand the official way (dangerous but still possible) and avoid burnt fuses if we kept pressing the keys after the update process is done (before the console restarts) ofc while your jig is inserted. I did that with SX OS bootloader and it seems it burnt my fuses, later I did it with Hekate and it didnt burned my fuses..... again, I dont know if they fixed it with newer/newest SX OS firmwares but I think the older ones burn the fuses, but I guess most SX OS users never cared about fuses. Where I on the other side care "just in case".......

Oh, I thought both the SX OS and Gateway was dumped, since they're made from the same team. My bad.

Yes, I already know about that method, but you need to be able to boot into Gateway, which is impossible now since they haven't updated it in years (and won't ever, since they're now arrested).

Its simply not true, booting to Gateway emunand and using all the online services is still possible..... I used Gateway for a long time and later I switched to B9S/Luma3DS but you can still spoof the latest firmware without getting banned and all the online services are working perfectly fine and the newest games (never had issues with franken firmwares...) btw funny how my 3DS had a hardmod installed but I actually never needed it, I backed it up numerous times, changing microSDs etc. used multiple booting methods, hacks/homebrews and what not for emunand/sysnand.... basically I ended up with bunch of nand backups etc.(100+ GB for sure hah) but I actually never bricked my 3DS so basically all the backups were/are really pointless in a way lol and all that with Gateway 3DS (even later when they stopped releasing the updates).

Basically, most 3DS firmware updates (atleast the recent, last 5-6 or so) arent actuallly "necessary" because while they might bring some little new feautures or change some stuff which the newer games COULD use/require.... but in realitty it wasnt the case, its just "forced" firmwares, you just need to know what to update and what to avoid to update if you want to stay on franken firmware. If done everything correctly, then you would be fine and be basically on the latest firmware which I did the last 5-6 times or so.... later switched to B9S/Luma3DS

Isnt Gateway 3DS one of the reasons why we received hacks from the "3ds scene" earlier than expected (btw magnethacks hahah laughted at us all the whole time)? They reverse engineered the Gateway 3DS flashcard/firmware and later found other security holes etc. and its how it started.......

BTW fun fact, I knew from the begininning since I first heard about Stargate3DS, same day (since the first reveal aka video demonstration on youtube) that they are the same guys from Gateway, that day was a confirmation that they abandoned the Gateway3DS users. How I knew? If you search my old posts on Gbatemp you will see it.......... main clue: "lady with red fingernails".

So if I understand correctly, Atmosphere and Hekate already work on the Switch Lite but you must boot them through SX OS. This will remain the case for the foreseeable future. SX OS will no longer receive support. Is this correct? Is it still possible to activate SX OS licenses?

Not to be rude, but you're completely incorrect. Erista switches (non mariko) only are able to boot other payloads at this point in time. As far as the public is concerned, with no information either way from any member of Team Xecutor we honestly have no idea whether support will cease or continue indefinitely. For all we know, their software developer could be completely safe and still working away.
Nothing has changed in regards to their servers either and won't change until after the court hearing (if they are in fact guilty) so for now, activating licenses should work as normal.

I don't get it. Were these comments referring to Erista Switches only?
Personally i'm hoping that as a result of the firmware dump i can at least directly boot hekate and atmosphere, it takes time getting used to but it works!
Pretty easy to do now. I load into sxos then go to homebrew menu and use payload launcher. Select atmos. It loads into atmos. Once in atmos do the same but select sxos.

I'm assuming so as there are no payloads written for mariko switches other than SX OS loader.
No matter what kind of information was in these dumps, there is no way you'd be able to boot any other payload until it has been updated or rewritten to run on mariko, I doubt this dump would have any useful information in regards to updating current payloads. It's more than likely gonna lead to clone chips or custom modchip firmware that can load other payloads by default. payloads will still need to be modified for mariko.

Well, now that the SX Core and Lite activation servers and SX forums are dead, this exploit and dump will eventually be what saves new SX Core and SX Lite installs since they can’t activate anymore.

All it would take is someone to build a custom firmware for the SX Core and SX Lite that can boot Hekate and Atmosphere as those don’t require activation. Of course V2 Mariko owners will need to still wait for Atmosphere to work on their systems but hopefully by then someone takes the initiative to replace the firmware now that the activation servers are dead.

Well well..... activation worked and it was confirmed but now the sites are down and we are screwed.... but wait, not so fast.

Now, you remember all that someone from that reputable "german hacks site/forum" edited/tweaked the GW firmwares and released it publicy and now someone made an update for the "SX Save Manager" to version 1.2:

v1.2
  • Added persistent login token support
  • Added option to back up all data to Google Drive
  • Fixed bug that would cause crash if the SXOS folder was not present on the SD Card
  • Under the hood changes to lay groundwork for future updates
  • Fixed off by one bug in file names

Also, someone at Team Xecuter forums asked the staff (mods) some days ago does someone has the sources of TX apps etc. and the staff replied something like that not a single Team Xecuter app got leaked, stoled and that the sources arent avaliable to anyone (ofc only to its creators) as far as he know, but later another person pointed to them the update on a reputable german site with an update for "SX Save Manager".

This should be neat, was unfortunate enough to get an Ipatched V1 Switch which I like to playfully refer to as the MariNO. Switch Homebrew like Emulators im really excited to use due to the switching capabilities being taken advantage of.

modified firmware, please
No end-user care about the drama they just want to run homebrew and most sx core/lite users are only using it because there are no other options for the streams that they have so as soon as atmosphere can be used on a v2 switch they switch be switching over or maybe using both they don't care as long as the apps they can't to use work.

That’d be rad if sxos was “adjusted” to enable more homebrew support, such as missioncontrol. I want to switch to atmosphere just for that extension, but something is telling me to wait.

What that mean for users like me I have the mariko switch done with mod chip boot up SXOX. Since they going down does that mean I’ll still be able to run clone ?

Or is over for me no more updates and support?

I believe the aim now is to have a payload (ex, atmosphere) “fully” replace sxos on sx hardware. Or perhaps, sxos will be “maintained” by another group. I don’t think sxos is dead yet. Sure the team is being dismantled, but I think there will be “unofficial” updates in the near future. I’m staying on sxos now, but playing with atmosphere.
