A week ago i bought a hacked switch with atmosphere installed. I wanted to download some new games and so I stupidly enough took out the microSD card while the console was still on. It gave me the notification that the console will now shut down. I then tried reinserting the card and booting it up again without success. I also tried inserting the payload via TegraGUI, but the RCM was not detected. I then thought that the microSD card could be corrupted so i formatted it to fat32 and reinstalled a package from sdsetup. Still without any success, the switch is still not recognised by my PC (I also installed the driver from TegraGUI). I also tried the paperclip for getting into the RCM (I don't know if i succeeded but I tried many times and the PC doesn't recognise RCM, I also ordered a real jig that should arrive in a few weeks just in case). I also tried different ports on the PC and left the console to charge over night. The console wont show any signs of life. Please help :)

It could be that it is in the rcm mode since you said it shut off and it could possibly entered rcm because of enabled auto rcm and you failed to properly inject payloads. Try charging the switch for a while first and try injecting payloads again. It could also be that your sd card reader is busted. I'd still recommend you to try another micro sd first to make sure that it is not sd card reader problem. Try putting atmosphere files to new micro sd card. If it still doesnt work then it could be that your sd card reader is busted. The worst scenario would be a busted sd card reader.

Thank you for the answer. I again left my switch charge over night with another cable and still without any success. I don't currently have another microSD card at my disposal but will go and buy a cheap one right away to try if the sd card reader is the problem.

Hello again. I bought a new microSD, formatted it to fat32 and again transferred the files onto it but still the switch isn't recognized by my Tegra. Could it be that I am not entering the RCM correctly or is it the card reader?

Either of those is possible..are you sure if
the method you used to enter RCM was correct? I myself use dongle which contain hekate payload, do you have a dongle? It is very easy to test using this.

Did you even try the very first obvious thing - to hold power for 10-15 sec to fully shut down, only then enter rcm>launch your cfw.

I do not own a dongle. I tried to make a jig using a paperclip, maybe unsuccessfully? I also ordered a 3D printed jig that should arrive soon, so I can try with that.

I did multiple times in fact every time before trying to enter RCM. I also tried to enter RCM by pressing vol+ and power button, by pressing both vol+- buttons and power button.

I take out microsd like that in the homebrew menu to save time because it restarts into hekate menu. I don't think your sd card reader is the issue at all. You don't even need an sd card inside for your switch to show up in tegrarcmgui.

It seems like your switch has autorcm on and the battery died while it was in rcm.

Try this.
Make sure you have latest tegrarcmgui and installed the drivers. While holding volume +, connect it to pc and wait until rcm shows as ok and is green.
To show up as green keep trying these above steps after charging. Some switches are weird and charge extremely slowly even enough to boot.

If it still shows red in tegrarcmgui, hold power for 20 seconds to force shut down and put it in the dock to charge for 2 hours. Come back and follow the above steps again. Then force shut down again and let it charge 2-4 hours by using charger directly and try the steps again.
If still no luck, connect to computer and play with the power button and volume buttons until it shows rcm as green and ok.

Do the above steps. Worse case scenario is having to take out the battery from the switch to charge elsewhere but if you follow my steps, you should be golden. Autorcm is a pain in the ass and I recommend you to disable it whenever you get to the hekate menu

Also try using a different cable for tegrarcmgui. There's issues with using Chinese or low quality cables in tegrarcmgui

Thank you! It was the cable that was the problem. I had some old USB-C cable and i bought a new cable and now the switch is recognized by my PC. Thank you to all for helping!
