Hacking SD Cheats Help Requested

Hi guys. I recently heard about SD Cheats for Wii U, and would really like some help with setting it up. In one of the youtube videos I saw, it says not to use Homebrew Launcher channel v2.1, or get blackscreen. My Wii U is on 5.5.1 US version and has Haxchi installed (Non cold-boot version) and also has Homebrew Launcher installed as a channel, but not sure which version. How can I avoid the blackscreen issue? Is there a way to install a newer Homebrew Launcher channel over old one? Help on all of this greatly appreciated

There are 2 different Homebrew Launchers.

Normal Homebrew Launcher, which is version 1.4.

Then there is the Homebrew Launcher Channel, which is version 2.1.

I don't see how Homebrew Launcher would cause a black screen when using SD Cheats via TCPGecko.

Did you even try to use the latest TCPGecko with SD Cheats enabled? If not, then you should try it yourself and see if it works for you. Homebrew is weird like that, some people don't have any problems running some Homebrew Apps, some people do. You should try it yourself and see if it works.

Tcpgecko and Jgecko for cheat codes. SD Caffiine for loading up mods like skin music etc.

I am just afraid of getting that black screen that was mentioned in the youtube video. What can I do if that happens? Have you gotten SD cheats to work with the 2.1 Homebrew Launcher Channel? Even if you get a black screen it won't hurt the system, you would just need to shutdown the system using the Power Button and restart the console.

I am using Homebrew Launch Channel (v2.1). I never tried using SD Cheats though. I always use either a Trainer (BOTW Trainer), or JGeckoU.

Also, make sure you use the latest TCPGecko, and use the latest JGeckoU to create your cheat file to put on your SD Card.

I'm not sure of the exact folder structure or SD Card file path, because I never used SD Cheats. But the instructions to use SD Cheats with TCPGecko are in the Official TCPGecko thread here on GBATemp.

Thanks again for your help. With JGecko U, when I download cheat database, which source should I choose? It gives me 2 choices: Cosmo's or Sloth's. Which one do you think is best? Thoughts and help greatly appreciated

I'm trying to use an SD card so I can use cheats on the Wii U, but I haven't managed to figure it out yet.

I've looked at several tutorials but they seem to involve connecting my PC to my Wii U in some way using IP addresses etc.

What I'd like to do, is simply copy a bunch of cheats to my SD card, pull it out of my computer and plug it into my Wii U and load them up from there using Gecko or whichever is the best program. This is what I do with the Wii and it is great. Is that possible?
