Hey everyone,

i recently updated my SXOS EMUNAND to 10.0.3 using ChoiDuJourNX. Everything seemed to work fine as always. It said everything was successfull and needed to reboot. I clicked on the reboot button and it seemed to reboot normally. But after the usual "Nintendo" logo coming up, the screen turned black and it didnt boot up again. I also booted into my Sysnand and updated that to 10.0.3 as well cause i thought that might help but it didnt. I still can boot up my sysnand and boot into SXOS Menu, but everytime i select "boot custom firmware" it shows the normal "Nintendo logo" then it goes black afterwards and thats all. I already tried the beta of SXOS 2.9.9.5 and 3.0.0 but same result. Does anybody know whats wrong? Is there any known bug or something? Is there something i could try out to get it working again? I think i made old NAND Backups just in case but im not sure where they are, plus they are damn old. Just in case i have no choice: How could i restore my EMUNAND and could that help? I would be so damn glad if someone could help me. I really have no idea what to do :( Thank you all!

press the power button one more time when the screen gets stuck on black screen
That doesnt work. Nothing happens then. I only cann press the power button for a long time which leads to a new reboot. But i just can boot Sysnand or can get back in SXOS menu. But i still cant boot custom FW then.

And if that is true how could i solve the problem then?

you’ll have to delete the file off the sd.
SD:/sxos/titles/00FF0012656180FF/... I think!
Backup the folder first

I know it used to give a black screen error when I used to update my emunand but that’s the only thing I can think of for you brutha

Reformat the SD card as FAT32 or test it with a different SD card formatted as FAT32. You might not have installed exFAT support during the update process.

exFAT is not recommended, so you should reformat as FAT32 regardless.

Ok ill try both solutions. But isnt FAT 32 limited to small file sizes?

Yes, but you don't need support for larger file sizes. You should not be installing NSP files directly off the SD card, for example.
Okay thank you very much. Transferring all the files will take forever, but i will tell here if that was the solution. Couldnt locate the file supaastahhmarioo was referring to, so i will try to go the FAT32 Route and then respond here again.

Perhaps Nintendo Bricked your console since you hacked it and they caught you. Only solution is to buy a new one and try not to hack it and use it for piracy otherwise it will happen again and again. And I know people will say "But I bought It I should be able to do what I want with it" which in theory is true but still there is always a grey area that most people fail to realize. the best time to mod/ hack a console is when support for ithas dropped not when security is as tight as a nuns ass! it's not smart doing it so early it's retarded. Ok the themes look cool and require mods but in truth all i really want for my switch is folders to store the game icons in so the main screen isn't cluttered.

Im not really sure anymore...mabe thats what happened. is there a fix for that?
As I said earlier, the fix is to use an SD card that is formatted as FAT32. That means you have two options:
  1. Reformat your SD card as FAT32 (recommended)
  2. Use a different SD card that's on FAT32 to reinstall the update, this time choosing the exFAT option

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Nintendo doesn't intentionally brick consoles.

Maybe not "intentionally" but use something for what it's not meant to do then of course Nintendo will bite back you expect them to just let people get away with it?

Thank you. Im already trying this. Transferring my files before reformatting just takes forever but i will tell if that helped when done.

Nintendo will ban users for the use of CFW, homebrew, piracy, etc. However, they will not brick systems. There is literally no reason to think Nintendo had anything to do with his current problem. I also already explained what the problem probably since, since it's what the problem almost always is.
