How to hack SNES mini and not to loose warranty?

Hello Guys!

First of all, please report this thread if its in a wrong section, cause i couldnt see SNES mini section so i put it here.

That being said....


I was wondering if someone can help me with a question.
I would like to hack a Snes mini (PAL one), but i dont wanna loose my warranty. Is that possible?

Depending upon where you are in the world then most warranty law, some of which was clarified somewhat recently, usually runs unless your actions demonstrably caused the problem that the warranty is still good. They might try it on anyway though so if it is something you care about then eh.

I don't know if there is some kind of impossible to trace/RAM only softmod though. Might be but for the most part I would say just mod it -- it is not likely to damage anything if you do it properly and is it like they are so hard to come by or will be so hard to replace in a year or so?

Thanks, but I was just wandering can SNES be unhacked after its being hacked, like a Wii U for example?

Follow the guide, dump your untouched EEPROM file then it can easily be flashed back to standard if you want to later.

Apparently the new CE version of Hakchi backs up the kernel automatically, I haven't used this one as I modded mine ages ago but you can double check (Kernel > Advanced > Dump original kernel (legacy)) just to be sure.

Yeah, you should be to go back into Kernel > Advanced and reset the system back to the factory settings.
