Hey guys,
Someone said me that he discovered this method before me and that Nintendo could patch it anytime soon if it remains public. So I obviously had to remove it.
Sorry

First renting games form local shops, libraries whatever, dump the game+cert and redownload from switch eshop?
Sounds like fraud to me.
If some other will rent the game and play online, that's when Nintendo will do checkups of the certs
To my understanding, Nintendo changed how they check for piracy very drastically since 3ds wiiU times.
Second, iirc there are cartridge and eshop versions of most games. How does it even work to redownload a game, with a cert of a cartridge game? Couldn't do that with my legit Pokémon copy.

Why? The games were downloaded legally ... So I wont be banned from Nintendo Server nor GBATemp. Remember that the way I found isn't the same than freeShopNX

Uh, simply because cartridges legit copies of games. So they surely have legit certificates on them to get eShop updates (remember Mario Kart cartridge update downloaded from eShop).

You think what you want man.
Dumping game is piracy, but downloading game legally isn'!

You dumped the cert of a cartridge game and then magically it will become an eshop cert? I don't think this is how it works.
Updates are distributed to every game, doesn't matter if eshop or cartridge. That wouldn't make any sense "sorry folks, but sadly only the ones which bought the game in eshop will get the patch for the game breaking glitch" no way.

And you didn't download the game legally as you never owned the game legally.

Sooner or later this will get you banned.

So wrong. You can download any versions Windows 10 for free without you own it. It's not piracy. Then you can activate it by buying it.

What?

Anyway guys, I'm asking for help for creating a new freeShop like store that would work trough this exploit. So do someone have something do say about that?

What?

Yes you can, with your product key, which is stored while you make the installation device/cd/whatever.
If you don't have a legit key, windows will ask for a key.

Man, cartridges and eshop games handle the certification of tickets totally different, which is stated in the Reddit post above.

As pointed out above, since you didn't actually purchase the game you copied, that throws any legality out the window, since you didn't acquire the rights to preserve and run that specific copy of the game (i.e. if you return it to the shop, then aforementioned rights return to the shop too). If anything, making a copy of something to bypass the purchase is the very definition of digital piracy.

I think you can download anything you want from eShop without owning it or spoofing a console that does, the servers don't stop you, the only thing is that it's a guaranteed ban.

Edit: Also, CDN abuse is pretty much the one case where Nintendo will not only ban your console, they will ban your account, your IP, and any other Switches that connect on the same network. They take that pretty seriously.
you won't be here long enough for that to happen :creep:
I think they already did (5 posts)

I think in summary, it's the same way how to 'unban' your switch. Take the cert of an unbanned one, insert it to yours and poof, you're unbanned but will be banned (and the 'cert donor switch') in about 24hours after Nintendo does their checks.

lol imagine just banning random carts because you feel like it
why not just find the dumps on their own instead of dumping real carts, its just adding more on the list of steps to get a game for free

Guys, I'll say you if I even get banned.
Now let's talk about the freeShop like app.
It could also be like Wii U USB Helper Launcher software for computer.
Who would make to help me to code it?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

In fact you only need a detectable installed Switch title for the exploit works. It could be from cartridge or eShop, it only need data corruption on it. The data corruption repair by redownloading the game is legit. There's no way to get banned by doing that, because the Switch wont know if you own the game or not while redownloading it. I think it will believe you own it because it's already installed on the console and that it couldn't surely check it's id properly.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I think that it can't check the title id correctly because the game datas are not the same than it should be. Soit will simply redownload them.
