I currently got my switch on cfw. When i first loaded hekate, i chose to launch cfw on sysnand which might've tainted the sysnand. I want to be able to go online with OFW and have emunand CFW. To be safe I am thinking about starting all over from scratch.

How do i go back to a clean switch? my switch came in OFW 3.0.1. I made a nand back up of it, then updated it to 9.2.0 OFW. Do I simply do a factory reset to clean the switch?

Restore the NAND backup.

The nand backup was from 3.0.1 FW. My switch is currently on 9.2.0. Will restoring it to the 3.0.1 FW NAND backup brick the switch? Will it downgrade the switch down to 3.0.1 FW to where ill have to update to 9.2.0 again? thanks

You can get a pre-configured ini file either from Kosmos or SDSetup.

I have a first gen switch bought in 4/2017 that I've used normally up till now. Passes the hackable test when I enter the serial numbers but it's currently on version 9.2.0. Is it able to be reset and hackable?

SDSetup lets you choose what to bundle with your CFW.

The serial number is used to determine if your hardware is vulnerable to the exploit. The firmware, or software, of the console is irrelevant if your console is vulnerable to the exploit.

Another Newbie enters here! Although I have experience soft modding my Wii and Wii U.
I have not hacked my Nintendo Switch yet, however I am concerned about being banned.
Im looking to backup everything onto PC so that I can play around with my games on PC via emulator.
At one point does one need to do a clean NAND backup?
Is it possible to switch between OFW and CFW?

The first thing you should do is a NAND backup, clean or not. Without it, your console will become a paperweight. It is possible to switch between CFW and OFW (it involves rebooting the console) however you can still be banned even if you boot OFW if you have ever booted CFW.

I'm trying to upgrade by micro sd card. Is there an easy way to copy my card over with all of my downloads so I dont need to redo them? I dont use emmu just sysnand.

All games installed to the SD card are stored on the Nintendo folder.

Right. So am I able to just completely transfer everything to the new sd card and put it in and I'm good to go?

If you want to keep your SysNAND clean, you need to update it with regular system update. Keep in mind that the regular update will burn fuses (nothing bad if you never want to downgrade your SysNAND). But you can protect your fuses if you enter RCM right after the update is finished.

Thanks so much for your reply. Is there anywhere with a full tutorial on doing the system update and not burning the fuses? is there any risk to entering RCM right after. I had updated the system firmware before I hack an emunand - so would my fuses already be burnt to a point anyway making this update not change much?

Don't make the mistake I did and replace the files from a pack. I thought it would only replace what was in the pack but I lost everything in my Switch folder and possibly more including important game states from Checkpoint - devastated. Thought I had backed up the SD before hand but it hadn't worked for some reason

I am currently on 6.2.0. I have another question. So i am running atmostphere so my question is that i want to run mods online with my friends on smash. What should i use? CFW sysnand? CFW emmMMC?

You can use ChoiDujourNX to update your firmware. If you use mods online, you risk getting banned.
