Hey I'm new and have been out of the nodding world since Nintendo Wii

Got a pikachu switch a week ago and bought a rcm jig and tested my switch it came back with smashed 0x000 which in turn means its patched but all the info that I so far can find is dated 2019 anyone have new information for 2020 as to if my switch is going to be hackable?

If the firmware is 4.1 or lower, you can hack it. If the firmware is between 5.0 and 7.1, you will be able to hack it in the future but there is no date. If the firmware is 8.0 or higher, you may never be able to hack it.

Hello, iwant to update my emunand to latest atmos, i'm currently in 0.10.2

Can i imply take the new files and paste it to my sd by first removing all folders but keeping nintendo folder ?

I like to use hekate to load my emunand, can i simply update to the latest with no fear ?

Also, does the confiig.txt for atmos and hekate have changed ?

And for the last part of question, do i need to update my emunand to the latest firmware too via choixdujournx ?

1) Simply download the latest release and replace it on your sd card.

That's normal. Your new partition has a different drive letter.

I updated my kosmos to v15.4 and my atmosphere to v0.10.5 using sdsetup and now I cannot access the hbmenu using the R+Album method, and I also cannot open any games, I get the message "unable to start software return to the home menu and try again". I'm on an emummc switch v9.0.1 and I downloaded the latest sigpatches from The-4n.

EDIT: I was able to successfully access the hbmenu using ZR+Album, but I still cannot open any games. After getting the first message, If I try to open the game again it says "Corrupted Data Has Been Detected"

My son wants to play minecraft / bed wars on the switch.
So I have to buy minecraft in the e-shop.
But do you also need to buy the nintendo online service ?

Or does minecraft / bedwars connect to another server ?

Hi! I haven't bought anything yet (everything is so expensive), but I read the faq and am assuming that the switch lite might be hackable in the future. Is it a good idea if I buy a switch lite now and wait for the potential hack?

Related question - I'd like to run custom stuff in the future (i.e. Linux+Dolphin for nostalgia )... given I haven't bought one switch yet, should I invest on a V1 switch, or buy a V2 and wait? I guess my question is, how likely are we to hack the V2 in the coming months?

Sorry if this question has already been answered but having trouble finding an answer that is current. I hacked my switch late last year. I followed the main guide and created an emunand, i only do hacking stuff on there and tried to keep the sys nand clean to play online with pokemon. Now i am no longer on the most recent update. Can I safety update the sys nand firmware the regular way by letting the switch do it when prompted or do I need to do it a special way? I know I need ChoiDujour to update the Emunand, however I had an accident wit my SD card while trying to do that and accidently ereased everything in my Switch folder including some important saves so I don't want to use the SD card or Emunand for a wgile till I can at least try to recover that data, especially some important checkpoint saves.

If you want to keep your SysNAND clean, you need to update it with regular system update. Keep in mind that the regular update will burn fuses (nothing bad if you never want to downgrade your SysNAND). But you can protect your fuses if you enter RCM right after the update is finished.

Yes you still need to buy the online service. Its required for games that are not free.

No, buy an unpatched Switch. There is no estimated time on when the Lite can be hacked. It may take years for an exploit to be discovered.

Normally that error just means the CFW does not support the firmware version it is trying to boot. For now, try a fresh set of files from the latest Atmosphere release.

After updating to the latest files I get the same error...is there a way to find out what firmware is on the system from the hekate menu

Hekate cannot display firmware version but you can use NX-NAND Manager instead to display your firmware.
