Netflix to produce a live-action Dragon's Lair movie starring Ryan Reynolds

Remember Dragon's Lair? Originally released as a 1983 arcade game, it was later ported to many other platforms throughout the decades, and most recently, on current generation consoles. Ever since the 1980s, talks of a movie adaptation have been discussed, but never ended up panning out, at least, until a successful Indiegogo campaign managed to secure enough money to greenlight a film based on the series. Now, Netflix has just grabbed the rights to the movie, which will be produced by original creator Don Bluth, and will star Ryan Reynolds, of Detective Pikachu and Deadpool fame. According to an exclusive report by the Hollywood Reporter, two writers from The LEGO Movie, Dan and Kevin Hageman, will be involved in writing the script for the Dragon's Lair movie as well.

I dont know if it is a good idea because Dragon's lair is meant tobe for animated only. I prefer Bluth to be director for animated this film. Well.. It could ruin its movie. I am fan of Dragon's lair. When I was teenager.. Loved Dragon. I will see if it is really good or not. Right now.. YIKE!

I am not going block you because I dont have a problem with you. you just like to hurt people like me and made fun of me. You are obviously bullying. You can do whatever you want. You re immature and you are very harassed but I forgive you anyway. ITs up to you. I dont have a problem with you so I dont need to block you. What did I do to you ? Block is immature, really.

Im not making fun of you or bullying if you can't take a bit of criticism then don't post controversial views as people will react to them

I’m excited for this in all honesty. No animation will ever compare to Don Bluth’s original, so why not go totally different? The talent is there, so I’m excited to see how this turns out.

I just don't feel there's much to be done with Dragon's Lair as a franchise once animation is out of the question. Original one is a fairly basic story about knight saving the princess from the dragon - there's already many shlocky fantasy movies about just that, and live-action Dragon's Lair will have to be something really special to stand out.

That’s a fair critique, and given Netflix’s track record with live action adaptations, it probably won’t end up being anything special. Maybe I’m just glad to see the franchise officially not dead
