Try cleaning the cartridge pins with Isopropyl alcohol, and do the same with the sd card pins. Also, if necessary, disassemble your flashcart and clean the SD Card reader. My EZ-Flash Omega had similar problems when I first got it back in 2018.

Also clean the cart reader in your Game Boy Color.

Try it for yourself, see if it works.

There is a batch of gameboy color can not run EZ-FLASH Junior properly.

The feature of this batch of GBC is that there is no suffix on the CPU. This problem will be solved soon after we find the same type of motherboard in China.

Can it be resolved with a firmware update in the future or is it a hardware problem and you have to buy another one?

Hi there,
Just a message to inform that my Game Boy Pocket have some issues with Ez-Flash Junior.

Ez-Flash and games start properly at first, but if I reset the Ez-Flash or if I power down/up my GBP, it will boot loop infitinitely.
Nintendo logo goes down, Ez-Flash logo appears, then Nintendo logo goes down again and Ez-Flash logo appears again and this loop goes again and again...

I tried :
  • to shutdown my GBP, but the boot loop comes again the next startup
  • to reset the GBP through the Ez-Flash, but the loop comes again the next startup
  • to reinstall last firmware/kernel, after that, the Ez-Flash boot well, but after playing a game, if I shut down the GBP, boot loop again
  • to long format the µSD, boot loop appears again
  • to change µSD after fresh format, random boot loop

Unfortunately I don't have any other Game Boy to test...
Is this issue known ?

Thx for reading

Try to change a pair of good condition batteries.
There is no other issues on GBP with EZ-FLASH Junior, only batteries.

Hi,

I don't know if it can improve this thread but a week ago, i used EZ Flash Junior with Firmware 3 and Kernel 1.03 and it worked very well.

I tried to update to the latest version of both this week. I have successfully updated the Firmware but when i have updated the ezgb.dat with the version 1.04, my Game Boy Color glitched (see cases below).

So i reupload the version 1.03 of the Kernel to my SD Card and it works again, but some interesting updates of the 1.04 is not available for me. Currently, i'm using the FW4 and K1.03 and it works.

My GBC is an official french version (CPU CGB D).

I see that the size of the ezgb.dat file 1.03 is 557ko and the new version is 164ko, it's a huge difference, i don't know if this information is important.

Did you check the hash(sha1) of ezgb.dat(1.04) on your sd card and compare it with the value listed on the download page?
