Comparators going badMy gamecube PSU makes buzzing noise when it's turned off, when i turn the console on, the buzzing goes away. Why is that?
Uhm, don't know how much bad is that. Explanation?Comparators going bad
Buy another thats how bad it isUhm, don't know how much bad is that. Explanation?
The PSU should stop working by the time anything catastrophic happens if it's an official Nintendo one. Keep using it until you can't stand the noise anymore then get a new one.Uhm, don't know how much bad is that. Explanation?
It's not official...The PSU should stop working by the time anything catastrophic happens if it's an official Nintendo one. Keep using it until you can't stand the noise anymore then get a new one.
Do you mean capacitors?Comparators going bad
I blame that on my phone's word correctDo you mean capacitors?
LOL.Enjoy your house fire OP. RIP.
May I ask how long your PSU lasted? I've been wanting to get a cheap 10 dollar Chinese PSU as I only have 1 power brick for my 3 Gamecubes.LOL.
Nah, i've just throwed the PSU away,
Fuck recapping 3rd party crap better to just buy an official PSUIt's either coils or caps going bad. If caps do go bad (typical in high-heat), they will filter less and less noise and keep buzzing until the capacitor is dried up. You can take it apart and recap it if you'd like, it's not a hard job.

No guarantees about the board design either, cheapo power supplies are often missing important safety components and don't have enough separation between the high voltage and low voltage side, and those are a part of the board design itself. The components may be absolute junk, but a board design is a board design...
CostWhy do 3rd party PSUs have to be so sketchy? It shouldn't be so difficult to obtain a PSU that isn't a fire hazard.
