Gaming Wii games on modded Wiiu

Hi guys!

I have a question about playing Wii games on a modded WiiU: is the process to get the game running same as the original WiiU games?

To get a WiiU game running I first use USB Helper, then move the file to the WiiU SD then use the dedicated app in the homebrew channel. Is it the same for Wii games too?

If I get the Wii game to work on my WiiU, will I have to use the wiimote and nunchuck to play it?

- make "Injects" of the Wii Game(s):

- softmod your vWii (the Wii Mode on your Wii U) with the WUPhax Exploit:

and use it like an softmodded Wii with USBLoader GX for example.


Yes,on both Solutions you can use the Wii Motion Controller and a Nunchuk if needed.

For the first one @alexander1970 mentioned it is similar to how you install Wii U games, to answer one of your questions. I recommend this way for ease of use, accessibility and not having to use two storage mediums, which in the second alternative with wuphax would be one storage medium for each system (Wii and Wii U).

I found this video, the guy there uses a script to compile the game, do you think is a valid method?

Majority of people who inject their own personal Wii games use TeconMoon's WiiVC Injector Script (GC/Wii/Homebrew Support) as stated in the YT video you posted, you can find the post HERE.
