So what modifications should allow me to relaunch hbc after quiting a game backup?

I could be wrong, but isn't it best to use ios 58 for homebrew? that just jumps out at me.

hmm, looks like you have it installed via the previous page. nm then.

After installing a usb loader gx forwarder and changing settings to return to usb loader gx on exit, usb loader gx hangs on initializing usb device. I think that there may be a problem when patching ios 58.

Hello.:)

Is your USBLoaders IOS set on 58 ? Maybe try to change it to 249 please.
You can change it in Settings - Global Settings - Loader Settings - Loader´s IOS please.
(I am sure your USB Device is plugged in the correct Port 0.:D).

I believe ios 58 is installed with system software 4.3. I'm currently on 4.1, since I think 4.2 and 4.3 were to patch exploits. you can get ios 58 if you install the ios 58 installer. I just checked my wii's sd card for the system check. it was outdated, so it had no ios 58. the date on it was in 2010, lol. I redid it just a few moments ago, and it does show ios 58 as being present. I believe the first time I heard that it was needed was the gamecube game dumper. all homebrew might use it if it's installed, but I'm not sure. it shows the homebrew launcher using it as well.

yeah, using the wrong port will cause it to fail to initialize the hdd. I had that happen on my wii u. I think you can change the input in settings for one or the other or even both.

The device is connected to port 0, and the same error occurs with ios 58, ios 249, and ios 250, the error only occurs after exiting a game backup launched from usb loader gx. And I have version 4.3 installed so ios 58 is present.

there's an option to change what you boot into after exiting. it can be the wii menu, homebrew channel, or back to usb loader gx. I have mine go back to usb loader gx. the error you're having I've never encountered.

Do you use an USB Stick or such Kind ?

Can I see what CIOSs you have installed? Also, could you send your usb loader gx config?

some of those patches may not be needed anymore, but I left them. everything works.

I think you might need a controller without motion plus for sys check. I was able to navigate through the menus with motion plus, but exiting to the homebrew channel wouldn't work. my first wiimote works getting out. I think the libraries for motion plus didn't come out 'til this app was created. mine is probably just outdated, 'cause I know this can happen with wad managers too.

You would not have used PimpMyWii? Many useless Trucha Bug and the bases of your cIOS are not correct and it is preferable to use the d2x v8 final or the v10 beta 52. The best solution in my opinion, would be to redo a complete hack using the Modmii guide

Not necessarily a hack related question, but I need guidance:

I have two Wiis, one hooked up through component to my 55 inch TV, and boy playing Mario Kart in family was my dream. We made it these past weeks. The image quality is a bit blurry, but I don't think it can be sharper, am I right?

Also, I had one Wii2HDMI that suddenly killed itself (I thought the console was dying, actually), so now, I have a bit of a problem.

I want to connect my Wii to a monitor, like it was with the Wii2HD, but trying to go for maximum picture clarity.

What would you guys suggest me to use?

For my two Wii's I have:
Component cable, Scart cable and RGB cable.
What are my options to have a sharp image in my 4K TV (component and HDMI inputs) and 22 inch monitor (VGA and DVI-D/HDMI inputs)?

Thanks.

Hi everyone, first of all sorry if this isn't the right place to post but given my noob mistake it may be. I need some help with a dicey situation

I bricked (or semi-bricked?) my hardmodded (don't know what chip) and softmodded Wii by formatting it thinking it would give me a clear start to softmod it again... And now the state of my Wii is the following:
IMG_20200105_232324.jpg

I can only access this preloader menu and all options give error messages:
Systemmenu: Error autobooting systemmenu! Ticket not found!
homebrew channel: Error autobooting HBC, maybe title not installed?
Installed File: Error autobooting file, try reinstalling! Could not open file!
Systemmenu Hacks: Couldn't find "hacks.ini" neither on FAT or on NAND

My system is 3.2U
The Wii came with no SD and I don't have any that it can read (all I have are SD HC)

Is this Wii salvageable?. If so how can I get it working, and can i from there softmod it again?(using modmii of course)

Any help is appreciated, and Thanks in advance

I wouldn’t really trust adaptors like wii2hd, you will have to deal with the blurry picture or find a more trustworthy (or more expensive) adaptor... your monitor might have some sharpness settings so try playing arround with those...

Has anyone had any issues with hacking the Wii Mini with Debain Buster? I am tempted to go download a live usb version of Ubuntu to see if that will do it. Under my current system (Debian Buster) I keep getting the syntax error if I use the premade stuff, and if I try to compile I'm met with an error for not having the powerpc-eabi-gcc installed. I started to try and chase down those needed libs and was met with not being able to install those because of a conflict in libs I have held that are the standard libs installed. Any ideas or clues? This Wii Mini wants to join his hacked brothers and sisters

I have yet to try this hack but I would recommend getting a live ubuntu usb as it is the most common os used by linux users so it probably has a higher chance to work...

:rofl::P

I finally broke down and took the way long way (Cuz no matter what THEY say, it's never easy as claimed) and downloaded the latest ubuntu, installed it to stick with Unetbootin and after about an hour of cat and mouse (forget to put this file or that file in the right place and even reformatted my USB stick which seemed to help) I was able to lift my Wii mini to the level of hacked status. Now im chasing down the Mini specific files..
