Hi Guys,

I have a question related to the game updates on cfw. When I am installing a patch eg. 1.04 does this contains all previous fixes in the game? The reason why I am asking this because if I try to install let's say an 1.01 patch then an 1.02 patch through goldtree I get an error message that this title has been already installed despite it is a different file name, and different file size.

Thanks in advance.

You only have to install the last update/patch.

Hey,
I am in the process of returning my switch to stock to play games online.
If i decide to go back to athmosphere will it be enough to plug my old SD card back in (after the hacking of course) to be able to access my installed content again or do i restore the nand backup ill be making today?

Thanks!

Hello,

I'm sorry to be such a bother... I'm trying to find a way to auto-boot to Hekate. I did find how to auto-rcm (I have a day-one Switch) but not what I should do to boot to Hekate or my CFW directly.

I did see the auto-boot menu in Hekate but fusee primary doesn't show up in the choices.

Actually all I'd want is to directly boot my Switch in CFW mode and never think about it again like on Vita/3DS/Wii/Wii U.

BONUS QUESTION: We're told for very obvious reasons not to go online ever.
-> Does it mean we should activate WiFi and go to the homebrew store?
-> What about playing wirelessly but not online? I had read this could ban the other player's Switch.

Thanks! And sorry ><

A few questions if someone is kind enough to answer. Im basically about ready to start the process.

1. I bought an RCM jig off of Amazon which way does it go in? It has on/off labelled on the mould with the two wires at the bottom, i assume it goes in that way with the connectors facing down?

2. Do you need to completely wipe your Switch before starting?

3. How is going online handled during this process, is it best to disconnect from Wifi at all times even when it is complete?

I know they are simple but the first two aren't handled by the guide i am using and i don't want to fuck it up especially over minor details.

If your switch is fully turned off, you have to inject a payload. But you can set hekate to autoboot to atmosphere. So if your switch is turned off, you need to inject hekate and hekate will autoboot to atmosphere.
For your second question: Don't go online in the NAND which you use for hacking stuff. Only go online with a clean legit NAND. Local play won't ban your switch nor the other player's switch.

1) The jig goes in with the two pins at the right side of your switch. Of course the pins need to face down.
2) No.
3) Don't go online if you want to do hacking stuff with your switch. You can create EmuMMC and use it offline for hacking and keep your EMMC clean for legit online games.

You have to either restore the NAND dump or install the games again.

I also seem to be having this issue but have not exhaustively tested to confirm it is a CFW issue and not just an old battery issue (my switch is a really low s/n). I read that if you have AutoRCM enabled, that will cause the CFW to not sleep, so try disabling that.

The problem is that i dont have AutoRCM turned on. :(
I am going to put vanilla Atmosphere to see if some of the kosmos packages might be making the battery drain, and I can confirm its not a old battery problem, I left my switch in sleep mode while in OFW, and it lost about 1% in 12hours.

Recalibrate your battery if it doesn't display correct, it is normal for it to discharge, I use AutoRCM with modchip, I just need to charge mine every few days, it is normal. If reloading Hekate doesn't fix your battery issue, disconnect the battery and try again.

I think its not a battery wrongly displayed because it turns off after reaching critical low battery, and It is noticeably draining faster than OFW, if it was a wrong display thing, it would still have the same amount of play time as the OFW, right?

But it isnt suupposed to be normal with AutoRCM turned off, right?

Battery discharge that is normal, AutoRCM does drain the battery, but if you recalibrate your battery correct, it will last all day in standby, I charge mine like once every 2-3 days.

Hey Everyone!

So I hacked my Switch about half a year ago (I have a dongle). Never toutched the Firmware or CFW since. Now that more and more games require 9.X as firmware, I thought about updating.

FW is on 8.1, hbmenu 3.1.1, nx-loader 2.2.0, Atmosphere idk. I have an EmuNAND thingy and made a backup. I always boot from the dongle, and when I don't put the dongle in, I have my old 8.1 Switch back without CFW.

Since lots of people are posting about errors and broken games and (partial, not really?) bricks after updating, I have some questions.

Sooo:
1. I want to use game cards. I read somewhere that I need to update differently than with chou.... to burn fuses or something. Is that correct? And what would you recommend?
2. Do I have to update Atmosphere/nx-loader/hbmenu afterwards? Is that all in the Atmosphere pack? How do I do that?
3. Do I have to update sigpatches? Where are they/Where do I get them from? (If this is illegal, please ignore the question)
4. I have older homebrew that was not recompiled for newer firmwares. Is the current Atmosphere still able to play them? I heard they made a temporary compatibility fix or something.
5. I use some "cheat files" (resolution changes, graphic mods and stuff). I heard the folders changed for that in newer atmosphere builds. Where do I put those files/ can I copypaste them to a different location? Or do I have to write those files again, change the folder structure ect.?

Thanks a ton for your help!!!!

1) Atmosphere blocks by default updates of the game card reader. If you want to use game cards while running CFW, you need to disable nogc in BCT.ini (if you boot with fusee primary) or disable nogc in hekate_ipl.ini (if you boot with Hekate). After your game card reader is updated you can't use it on lower firmware. Keep that in mind.
2) Always update Atmosphere before you update your switch. Download the latest Atmosphere release and replace your atmosphere folder on your micro sd card with the one of the newest release. Keep your BCT.ini if you have special options enabled or disabled.
3) Yes, you have to update your sigpatches. Get the sigpatches from the thread in this forum (if you boot with fusee primary) or from Joonie (if you boot with hekate).
4) Yes, you can still use old Homebrew but you should update it to the latest release. Some homebrews won't work on 9.0.1 if you don't update them.
5) The "title" folder was renamed to "contents".

Hi guys.!

Recently bought a used switch, should be unpatched according to a page.

I'm still waiting for my jig, but I've studied this page:

https://switch.homebrew.guide/hacking/fuseegelee/safetyprecautions

I have some questions I hope you can answer:

1. If I put kosmos/atmosphere on by using fusegele exploit, will I have to use a PC to inject payload on every cold boot? (When not using an android)

2. Even though I've searched and searched, I have not been able to find a way to install games onto a fat32 formatted card through USB (because of the 4gig limit). I've read people format it to exfat but others advise against it. I'm not gonna transfer games wirelessly over ftp or the like, takes too long. Can it be done?

Hope my questions aren't to nooby

Thanks in advance

1) Yes or buy a dongle to inject or use your smart phone.
2) Install with gold leaf and quark over USB.

If you don't want to use a computer/payload dongle/android phone to push a payload, get a modchip fitted if you have an unpatched unit.

You can install games via usb install method for game over 4GB, the 4GB limit is only directly through the SD, not when you do usb install via goldleaf.

Hope my questions aren't to nooby

Thanks in advance

Thanks!

If I buy the SX dongle will I have to use the sX os ? Thinking about buying it eventually, unless there are "better" alternatives out there?
I use the RCMLoader One dongle which allows you to inject every payload and can be therefore used for Atmosphere and SX OS. The SX OS dongle will only let you inject SX OS CFW.
