Okay another Q, where does atmosphere, edizon and checkpoint look for cheat files, and where are the ini files I can turn off auto cheats.. Like checkpoint shows no cheats for Luigis mansion.. But the game loads with cheats..

I happen to have an issue when it comes to activating the homebrew menu, when I open up the album mode on the switch, it automatically opens up the homebrew menu and holding down the R button instead opens up the album rather than the other way around, is there a bug or an error in setting up the files that causes this mixup?

This is the new default behavior. You can change it in by editing one of the config templates and moving it to the config folder.

So I hacked my switch when the latest firmware was 8.1.0. Everything worked fine but I couldn't play with it for a long time. Yesterday I picked up the switch and it didn't turn on. It just goes to RCM mode. So I deleted everything on my sd (exFAT) except the Nintendo folder and did a clean install using SDSetup default Kosmos bundle. It goes inside Atmosphere now but when I want to launch either CFW (SYSNAND) or CFW (EMUMMC) it just boots back into Atmosphere. Help, please.

Atmosphere is the CFW Kosmos uses. If your Switch goes into RCM after completely powering off and powering on, then you have AutoRCM installed. You can remove AutoRCM if you want to, but then you need a jig of some sort to enter RCM each time you want to enter CFW after completely powering off. Not having AutoRCM installed will also cause your fuses to be burnt each time you upgrade, making downgrading impossible.

Can anyone send me a copy of their sd custom firmware set up with hbg included I can't seem to get mine working at all
I recommend the following steps:
  1. Make a NAND backup with Hekate if you haven't already. Store it somewhere safe.
  2. Remove all CFW files/folders from your SD card (that would be folders like /sept/ and /atmosphere/)
  3. Make sure your SD card is FAT32
  4. Download the latest Atmosphere from github
  5. Download the latest fusee-primary (next to Atmosphere)
  6. Download these signature patches
  7. Put Atmosphere and the signature patches onto your SD card
  8. Put the SD into your Switch
  9. Launch Atmosphere using fusee-primary
As for HBG, you need to find that on your own. You can't link to it here.

Thanks. What do you suggest I do to get out of this loop? I can't access anything except atmosphere.

Atmosphere is what you want. I don't understand what you're asking.

My bad. Let me clarify. After a clean install of the newest atmosphere, I injected hekate. Inside hekate, when I touch "Launch" and then "CFW..." it just restarts hekate and brings me back to the homepage. It doesn't boot the CFW.

Do you have Hekate configured to use Atmosphere, either by configuring it to load fusee-primary or by using Kosmos? Is there a reason you aren't using fusee-primary? I recommend the following:
  1. Make a NAND backup with Hekate if you haven't already. Store it somewhere safe.
  2. Remove all CFW files/folders from your SD card (that would be folders like /sept/ and /atmosphere/)

Ok, I was stupid and trying to launch the cfw with hekate payload, not the fuse-primary for atmosphere. Thanks for the help.

Hi guys so I have wrecked my switch and it is all my fault. Pulling my hair out haha
1 - a kid tried to play local wireless smash bros using my hacked switch and it updated the firmware = black screen
2 - I got great advice on here to update the atmosphere / hekate files - ta-da, could open the switch menu again! Yay!
3 - however when I went to install new games, tinfoil/goldleaf would not open as the new menu from the album was in 'applet mode'. I finally got around this by loading through bayonetta which I had purchased and was on my switch. Then goldleaf would not work for me (could not activate USB>PC no matter what), had to install tinfoil and setup nut on my PC.
5 - none of the installs would work for games that were previously on the switch before the big f*up. I just got errors such as invalid NCA.
6 - I stupidly deleted the tickets for these games after 'uninstalling' them all from the switch menu. Including Bayonetta.
5 - I now cannot open hbmenu outside applet mode. I have borrowed a copy of mario kart from a friend but I get 'The game card could not be read. Please remove and reinsert it.'. I have tried to change nogc settings to no success. Which means I cannot install any new games... as I have said, goldleaf is not doing me any favours and nothing else will open outside applet mode.

Should I just give up....?! I did make a NAND backup when I originally put homebrew on my switch and I could have a good look for it. Or is the current setup saveable.
Really, really appreciate the help so far, I hate feeling so stupid about this when it all worked so easily before.

Edit x 100000000
I installed the sigpatches files and goldleaf worked > I could get out of applet mode > I could get into Tinfoil > I could install games via USB.
'The Real Jdbye' and 'Lucius', you guys are everyday heroes.
