I followed that guide for everything except emuMMC. For that I followed this guide. So basically, once you've injected the payload and launched Hekate that's when you do your sysMMC dump and emuMMC creation, then continue as normal and do everything on emuMMC. It's suggested to delete all your saved wi-fi connections and put it into total Airplane mode before you do your sysMMC backup and emuMMC creation so that when you launch emuMMC there are no wi-fi settings saved and it's already in airplane mode. Then you can just re-enable it when you launch in sysMMC. Just so there's no chance of emuMMC accidentally get connected anywhere after you've launched it.

Multiple CFWs would require multiple emuMMCs, correct. You can use different SD cards and/or different SD card partitions for this assuming your card is big enough. As for Atmosphere or Kosmos being better, I can't answer that. I'm only using Atmosphere (though with the guide I used I have a couple Kosmos apps so I don't really know either). Whatever you do, don't get updates from the eshop or with the Switch itself in any way, shape, or form. You'll have to find them elsewhere.

The guide I linked to earlier is the only one I know of. I would imagine with a bit of common sense and a dash of ingenuity you could figure out how to repeat the process for multiple emuMMC partitions. There may be a guide out there that does that for you I don't know. I only use one emuMMC myself so I'm not that knowledgeable. I do know that in Hekate there are multiple options to setup up to 4 emuMMCs, assuming you have separate partitions set up for them already. Or you could just repeat the same process on a different SD card and then just swap SD cards for different emuMMCs which would be a lot easier.

No idea about l4t in the middle of all that.

Hey guys, first off I wanted to thank everyone on this forum. Having all these threads that already answered most of my questions and problems were a godsend.

Now for the question I'm not sure about. I just realized to run RetroArch, I need to have my SD card formatted to FAT32. When I was installing my NSPs I had the card as Exfat though I was installing my extracted files through gold leaf and quark.

I read online that I could simply copy everything off of my sd card, format the card to FAT32, and copy it back, but I also read that I had to maybe split the big files? If the NSPs are already installed in my SD card, do I still need to go and split them up? Or will simply copying all the folders and files back to the FAT32 SD card be enough/work?

FAT32 can only hold files no larger than about 4GB each. exFAT is not recommended because the Switch's implementation for its support leads to easy corruption. It's commonly recommended to just stick with FAT32. There's a utility out there somewhere to split NPSs into 4GB pieces which GoldLeaf can still understand and install simply. After you have installed an NSP you no longer need that file and can safely remove it from your SD card.

Yeah, I found the software to split it, but I wasn't sure whether I needed to reinstall my games again. I imagine NSPs installed on an SD card aren't over 4gb single files, right?

If you installed them to the SD card it should be just a matter of moving the files back and forth after you've reformatted to FAT32. Switch games are designed to be installed to a FAT32 SD card (in the Nintendo folder), so, no. Nothing over 4GB you need to worry about. Just the initial NSP files which you can safely remove after.

So I have an old switch and wanted to backup and restore saves on my sysnand. Checkpoint was recommended via Atmosphere. As I'd only be running homebrew whilst online, would this affect my ability to be online or lead to a ban?

Looking through more of the information, I now have 2 additional SD cards, and want to keep my SysNAND as clean as possible as to reduce the chance of any kind of bans as much as possible. I plan on using one for L4T, and would I be able to use the other to run CFW on emuNAND while keeping the current one in my switch as clean as possible? or would I just need to install CFW to an EmuNAND on the main SD card? I want as much space as possible on the CFW card for games and homebrew. on top of this, the reccomended guide seems to be installing CFW to sysnand instead of emunand? what would I do differently to ensure sysNAND stays as clean as possible?

There is a potential risk for a ban.

Hi everyone! I have two questions that couldn't easily find an aswer to:
1) I'm trying to remove my parental controls while offline, so i found https://mkey.salthax.org/, which asks for my switch device id. Is this "safe" or could my device id be used for anything malicious?

2) I've seen a lot of talk around using lan play to go online with banned switches, but my console should theoretically still be free of ban (never went online since switching to cfw). So, is Lan play totally safe, or should i not risk it, assuming i want it to keep it free of bans?

Yes. sysNAND games aren't even on your SD card. Theyr'e on the onboard memory.

Yes. You'd have to do it manually with homebrew tools.

Woops what I meant was games in an SD card usable in my sysNAND. Let's say I have smash brothers legally bought from eshop and installed in my SD card. Can I just switch between two SD cards? Knowing that I won't be able to play smash bros.
