You're using DESMUME, right? You need to click on "import save file" in the settings and select the N3DS save, since DESMUME doesn't use .sav but .somethingelse (I forgot and don't want to look it up now). If you import the save file thus, it will convert it (by making a new copy, the old .sav will still remain) to the DESMUME format and allow you to use it.

Unless it's due to AP issues, you could always try asking over in the Mugen translation thread about it too.

It happens when I do that and I'm asking the translation team about it also. So far no one knows the answer I guess...

Hi I posted this on the original translation thread also.
so I'm trying to play Mugen no Frontier (English patch) on an emulator on my PC after moving a save file from my N3DS' TWiLight Menu++ but I'm getting a problem.

This is how it normally is if I start a fresh save on the emulator without moving the .sav from N3DS:

I'm able to press A and move to the title screen to start the game.

But with the moved save file, it gives me this screen and I'm unable to do anyhting in this screen:

Do you know what's going on?
Can anyone help me with this?

Use "boot.nds" from the previous version.

Is it possible that support could be added for RetroAchievements when playing GBA games (and other emulated consoles)? You can find more about them on their website here: retroachievements.org

On twilight menu ++ I tried using cheats from usrcheat.dat for soulsilver and now the game doesn't load at all, help please?

I saw elsewhere to delete the fatTable, patchOffsetCache, and the rom and I did so but to no avail. Luckily I created a backup of my sd card contents hours before so I have original files from before loading cheats before it stopped working and ive done all from replace everything with the old contents to deleting everything aside from my save file, nothings worked. The top and bottom screen stays white everytime I try loading the game and other games work.

Not all cheats work.

Hi,

I've just installed TwiLight Menu++ and it seems to work fine, however I have 2 (minor) issues.

1) I've got "DS Download Play - v1024.cia"
However after trimming up to 3900 and changing from offset C to HNDA
I get a white screen when I click on on Download Play,.
Do I have the right cia? If so any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

2) This a friends (daughters) DSi who updated their console past the version that their flashcart works at (R4i 1.4.2).
It's been lying around for a while and he asked me to have a look at it. They will be happy that I've got it going again.
However it doesn't seem to like to the old *.savs from the R4i card, it just overwrites them and the game is reset.
After saving in-game the *.sav seems work as expected.
Is there any issue with certain flashcarts saves? The R4i saves a *.sav that's 512kb in size, so from what I gather it should work.....
Is there any way to fix or convert them? (I know she only really plays a few particular titles).

Thanks (and for all your hard work :-) )

One possible solution to issue number 2 could be to import the save in an emulator like desmume, then export it in a type that is supported by twilightmenu. I don't remember if there exists a save converter program. I'll have a look at my ds files as I've done similar things before myself.

EDIT: Yes there's NDS save converter v.2.6. Wasn't able to check the download myself, but in case I've got the archive that I can upload.

Edit: Gbatemp file archive seemed to be slow so here it is. Don't see your flashcard listed but it is sure to be one of them so just try. not sure what type twilightmenu takes.

Thanks for that! (and the quick reply :-) ).

I'll give it a crack, I know the flashcart is this one http://r4i-sdhc.com/downloade.asp (It's the 2nd set of downloads v1.85b (for DS)).
I would have just updated the kernel on the card to run the updated DS, but the card wouldn't go past firmware 1.4.2 which is printed n the card itself...
It's just a generic r4 clone I think, so I'm surprised it didn't work...

I just installed this and can't seem to get widescreen to work. I have Pokemon Platinum installed and its still 4:3. I followed the directions to a T so I'm unsure of what I've done.

I also can't seem to get cheats to come up. I've tried pressing X when I have the game on the menu but nothing happens as if I didn't press it at all.

Update TWiLight Menu++.
The cheat menu issue is fixed on later versions.

To me it sounds like your rom is not a clean dump or a right revision or something. Has it been patched in any way?
