Amazing News Today!, Here it Is SX OS v2.8 now works with v8.1.0!
SXOS-28.jpg

TX has announced they have already released an update to their SX OS, which allows full usage of the latest Switch v8.1.0 firmware. :)
We are back with another update for SX OS. As you all probably know, one of our main priorities is making sure existing users are able to keep enjoying SX OS.

This update brings full compatibility for the recent firmware update 8.1.0.

Nothing more, nothing less. We have some very cool features lined up that are not quite ready for primetime yet. And we didn't want to keep you waiting till next september either.
So what are you waiting for? SX OS 2.8 beta is available for download on our website now! (and through the builtin online updater part of SX OS, of course)

Before this Update, my Switch has some problems.
Only connect Joy-Con in Handheld Mode.
In Dock Mode it was very dark.

Now it works fine.

you have it the wrong way around - SX OS released before atmos, so it wasn't ''once atmos had been updated'' at all.

it's nice to see quicker updates from SX, irrespective for who is ''first''.

I had been hoping for some new features to be added to SX OS since we're at it's first birthday.

what do you usually do (in ofw) when you boot into ofw from sx menu?
When I boot into OFW to play my games online.

If you update Sysnand on to the latest and it's not compatible with CFW yet, booting OFW from the SXOS menu will black screen. Only effects you if you have AutoRCM which you have to disable if you wanna boot into OFW

Tx normally take weeks to update sx os to the lateat fw. I guess they have listened to consumer feedback on forums.

Has anyone tried using themes with 2.8 or are they still broken?
Themes were never broken. To answer your question though, yes they still work in 2.8.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

You shouldn't be using themes anyway.
Why would you think that? Doesn't it boil down to the user's preference whether or not they want to use custom themes?

... Why wouldn't it...? Of course it does. Don't be baselessly pessimistic. That's like a game releasing and being like, "Black screen? Does it have a black screen? Tell me before I buy it so that I know it works!"
Don't get me wrong, I love my SX pro, but the latest releases have had issues that had to fixed in a X.1, X.2 etc .. I now wait before upgrading to make sure HDD supports still works, all the games and homebrew works etc. That's what wise man do

LLMs can be run on cpu anyway but it's quite slow

Have you ever been beaten by a wet spaghetti noodle by your girlfriend because she has a twin sister, and you got confused and fucked her dad?

I had a girlfriend who had a twin sister and they would mess with me constantly.... Until one chipped a tooth then finally I could tell them apart.... Lol

They would have the same hair style the same clothes everything... Really messed with my head lol

@The Real Jdbye, I could see AMD trying to pull off the CPU GPU tandem thing, would be a way to maybe close the gap a bit with Nvidia. Plus it would kinda put Nvidia at a future disadvantage since Nvidia can't make X86/64 CPUs? Intel and AMD licensing issues... I wonder how much that has held back innovation.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
i don't think nvidia wants to get in the x64 cpu market anyways
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
you've seen how much intel is struggling getting into the gpu market
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
and nvidia is already doing ARM

i don't think they want to take more focus away from their gpus

Yeah I think Nvidia s future lays in AI GPU acceleration stuff if they can get that going it's going to be super interesting in the long term

AI assisted game creation might become a thing

  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Psionic Roshambo AI assisted game creation is kinda already here, there was recently that AI that can turn any 2D image into a fully modeled 3D object, it's not perfect, but it's a starting point, beats starting from zero

  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
before that there was one to generate a fully modeled scene from a 2D image

  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but most recently, there was one that actually generates a working unity scene with terrain and textures already set up that you can import right into unity, that's a huge time saver right there

and using LLMs to generate NPC dialogue and even dynamically generated quests is something i'm sure is already happening
