Vita Moonlight homebrew project updated to v0.6.0, improves game streaming performance

unnamed.png

Homebrew developers prove that the PlayStation Vita will never truly die--with the release of version 0.6.0 of vita-moonlight, a project that attempts to bring Moonlight Embedded game streaming to the little Sony handheld. This update brings better streaming performance, along with support for the latest version of Nvidia's GeForce Experience program. v0.6.0 will also notify users when their network connections are poor, and features an experimental patch that'll improve how Moonlight handles textures. So, get to dusting off your trusty Vita, and go try it out, by downloading it from the GitHub repo linked below!

  • Update latest moonlight-common-c that version would increase streaming performance and support GFE 3.19 (cfadd84, ffe8c15)
  • Update latest inih (a2e38bb)
  • Fix invalid variable initializations
  • Apply SPS changes of moonlight-embedded
  • Use nerdfont instead VITA system font (7e2b682)
  • Use vita2d instead direct framebuffer handling (70330e2)
  • Implement poor network indicator (749aaaf)

Funny how I just started using this for android. I love that they are supporting the ps vita still. Now I can only wish for the 3ds's Pinbox to get an update.

Right! There are In-Home Switching app, and moonlight in L4T Ubuntu, but they're doesn't even come closer to the native moonlight homebrew port...
Eh...

Welp at least I wont have to ever worry about my vita capture kit from Katsukity dying out on me. This is a very strong alternative to stream with if only I saved myself $400 lul (Jpn Vita included btw)

I believe this does the opposite though. You're streaming your pc to your ps vita, like remote play on ps4, whereas the katsukity is streaming the ps vita to the pc, no?

Correct, this is not streaming your Vita's screen to your PC, this is streaming PC content to your Vita.

@MasterJ360, If you want to stream your Vita's screen to your PC, then you want PSVitaPlay, not this.

I still buy the occasional indie for vita (got steamworld heist last week) so it's definitely not dead for me.
