ROM Hack RELEASE MHGU Save Editor

Hi guys. Is there a way to get all Equipment/Weapons with this editor? I know that someone posted an item box list file early in this thread that had lots of items, is there something similar for Equipment/Weapons? If there is a way to do this, does someone have equipment list file? Also, is there a website that has equipment/weapon names and pictures of them? Help appreciated [emoji4]

Hi guys. I have done some editing with Equipment, but when I go to save file, I keep getting an unhandled exception error. It says that the "Destination array was not long enough. Check the destIndex and length, and the array's lower bounds." Does anyone know what is causing this error? Any help greatly appreciated

I'm trying to convert my MHXX save to MHGU but having some issues being I get the error on switch saying unknown file when I load the game. First is my main save file is in the second slot and I don't have the app to make it the first slot. I also need to get rid the jpn only stuff (whichever quests that is). Any assistance I can get is appreciated. I attached my save as well.

Edit: NVM I figured it out and it seems to working fine. Just wondering now how to download the event quests without going online. I just wanna do the quest itself, not just get the items.

PEtrified blade max level is Level 11.
Wyvern Jawblade (Lv 1) max Level is 6 and so on.
SOme names are still from the japanese version, as the Editor was for MHXX originally.

Armor you can find here for example:

max level you have to test out. Rathalos special permit max is Level 15.
Silver Sol was Lvl 6 I think, you have to test it out.

I can save once with the editor, the second save always throws an error for me. restart the editor then.
SAve only when you edited all your stuff. Or close and reopen the editor after save.

Hi all,

Does anyone figure out how to show all the recipes at the blacksmith? and is there a way to edit the DLC quests? I am running atmosphere on a 7.0.1, I can't link to the server. Any information will be appreciated, thank you all!

I was able to go through the full cycle and got my save from MHXX 3DS to MHGU with some compromises. The biggest hurdle for me was the editor doesn't load my MHXX 3DS save in its entirety, it crashes halfway through every time. I removed all the questionable items alerted by the pop-ups. The pop-ups went away but still crashes. However, I found out the save was loaded far enough to display all the item and equipment information. I port the lists to a new MHGU file and imported them to a new MHGU save. Have to start over, but it's worthy.

Anyone knows how to remove all the event quests after migrating the savedata (from MHXX to MHGU)?
I've got everything working except that when selecting event quests from the counter the game crashes. I've looked for some workarounds (like search for the character name in hex editor and overwrite a certain length of blocks in the binary file) but none of them seems to work...

NVM self solved this problem. Actually in my case the FIRST occurrence of my character name string in MHXX savedata is not the corresponding FIRST occurrence in MHGU. It seems to have a few of metadata that contains my name at the beginning of MHXX savedata, which is actually not the real beginning of the character block. I soon found the exact match by looking at nearby bytes.

i have a question regarding how to load saves? (i've never done this sort of stuff before so please bear with me)

i have my save file from my sd card(im just trying to edit my MHGU save file), but the application says "invalid save format"; is there some sort of modification im suppose to do to the save file to be able to modify it

also if possible i would like to not get banned which i know isn't likely for modding saves in MH (provides the stuff is legit)

you need a decrypted save, which involves homebrew to export it. you're probably using the wrong file, too, as the Switch saves to console memory by default.

use airplane mode for the duration of the homebrew stuff, don't mess with anything other than your save, don't use FTP. Stick to that and you're usually fine.

i see, i looked up some stuff for a bit but i have the latest system update at 8.0.1

if you don't mind me asking here, could you direct me to some starting points i would appreciate it (especially since i might accidentally use FTP, i think that stands for file transfer protocol which is what im doing to modify the save on my computer than put it back on the switch right? or am i getting that mixed up with something else all together, i have some programming experience but not homebrew or hacks in general)

FTP requires internet, hence why I warn against it. Just physically move the micro SD card to a phone/SD card reader and you should be fine.

also, note that you're not aiming for full custom firmware, which requires specific firmware versions. Just RCMing into homebrew uses a hardware exploit regardless of firmware version.
