the question is is test_NTR the same as aging-NTR? or what is it?

As far as I know yes it's the same.

I think that's chinese writing, which may mean that it could be an iQue variant. Since there's nothing on the internet about this you might have a unique find. Or it's japanese and I'm completely wrong

FYI, that's nothing to do with iQue. It uses Traditional Chinese characters, which implies either HK/TW (and possibly a knockoff) or Japan.

Yeah, since there was only one other card recovered and it was beaten up this is probably a knock-off. Still strange that someone would create an imperfect knock-off of such a niche game card, I would buy one anyway just to check it

So, I used this app to try to translate it from the picture. I keep getting something like "Actual Inspection" or "Actual test"

I know that "inspection" is "檢查" which is on the card.

NTR-005 is on the back of any DS game title, I think it's about the card shape in general. It's written on my testing cartridge and on all retail games.

Mine is version 1.0, dated August 18, 2004 so you seem to have a newer one.

I noticed that my ntr testing card only boots on 3ds consoles with a CFW, not a retail 3DS (on a recent firmware). I do wonder if yours is similar.

Yeah, it is... the plastic (infrared games for example are NTR-031)

I noticed that my ntr testing card only boots on 3ds consoles with a CFW, not a retail 3DS (on a recent firmware).

Makes sense, they're older than the DSi (so they don't have a signed header), and they didn't think of whitelisting a card intended to service a different console

Running v1.0 and v6.0 side by side I noticed that a few things are different.

obviously, 6.0 has a more recent build date, 1.0 is from August 18, 2004 wheras 6.0 is from November 11, 2005 (from 1.0 to 6.0 in just over a year, lol )

Main Menu:
contains a new option called "Clear NTR Config" which wipes your DS config entirely, forcing you to re-setup your device.

Evaluation Menu
v6.0 contains a "PMIC" entry, 1.0 has a blank (____________) line there.

Test Program
6.0 additionaly contains "TP Accuracy", "Test TP Jig" and "IPL2 Rewrite" but is missing the "Self Checker(8M)" menu

Misc Menu
Additionally to all the options from 1.0, 6.0 contains a TP Linearity test which lets you draw on the screen.

Other than that, the tests seem to run way faster on 6.0 than on 1.0

On a "virgin", unmodified 3ds? Because 1.0 won't even show up on the 3ds main menu unless it runs CFW.
