Backing up my 7.0.1 switch, although I don’t think it makes too much of a difference but I’m backing up while I have autorcm on, if my switch ever gets bricked, will there be a issue when I need to restore my backup.

Hi! I've had a patched switch for a while now and I just got a AMS ver 0.8.4 switch (got it jailbroken, i only know the basics) and I'm wondering how to transfer my save files from the legit switch to the cfw one. Do i just connect the jailbroken switch to the internet, make a linked account with the same email, and just transfer the save files over? Thanks!

Now I’m a bit confused, so I already backed up and now I need to know if there’s a point in backing up package 1/2, I went back to this tutorial I used back when I first backed up my switch and noticed that this was added as step 1,was that just put there to make sure sept was on my sd card.

I just updated my switch from 4.1 to 7.0.1 and installed the latest AMS (0.8.7). But now everytime I install an NSP and run it, the console shows a popup asking for an internet connection and wont let me start the game. How can I fix this internet popup?

You use the latest sigpatches?

I need to link account in order to play specific games wich require it obligatory. I got a copy of SYSTEM/SAVE/8000000000000010 file with linked acc but it hangs the console probably because was taken from 6 fw and my console is on 7.0.1. So the question is where I can get a 8000000000000010 file for 7.0.1 fw?

Extract to root of sd card.
Alright it worked like a charm! You sir are a wizard.
Just a few more questions please.
It looks like Gold Leaf has a browser now. My switch is unbanned and never went online. If I use the 90s DNS, am I able to go to youtube or twitch or just browse the web? How safe am I from being detected and banned?

Is there an easy way to install games on to a switch whilst its powered on? IE sending them over from a laptop via usb? If so, thats the best or easiest method / program to do so?

90DNS blocks Nintendo servers. YouTube and twitch should work but I can’t say 100% because I never tried. If you care about not getting banned I wouldn’t recommend to go online. In the end YouTube and twitch also work on smartphones and that’s why I don’t need it.

Goldtree.

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some help I have a noob question , I’ve just bought a SX Pro and booted into the sx menu on my switch I enabled Auto Rcm and then done a Nand backup , Should I have done a backup before enabling Auto Rcm mode or does it make any difference in regard to having a clean Nand backup ? And if so can I just disable Auto Rcm and do another Nand backup to give me a clean Nand , Also what does the repair gpt option do , I haven’t ran the cfw or done anything else yet except the Auto Rcm and Nand backup so far,
Thanks

What's the recommended way to do a NAND/boot0/boot1 backup of a brand new/factory reset Switch?
a) Go through the first setup process until the Home menu is accessible.
b) Do the Fusée Gelée right from the start without going through that first setup.

Do nsps carry software updates? How is it possible that a switch gets updated without internet connection and 90DSN set up?

Hello,

some other noob questions I have :)

1/If I avoid burning fuse using choixdujournx, will I be banned when going online using RCM > OFW launch method? (Basically another way of asking the question is : can Nintendo detect a discrepancy between the number of burned fuses and the OS version?)
2/Using SXOS, can I neatly make folders for my homebrews or do I need to have them all in root folder?
3/Can I update OFW to 8.0 using choixdujournx and keep emuNAND at 7.x ?

Firmware? Also what updates for Smash did you install? And did you install all or some of the DLC? Lastly, CFW?[/QUOTE]
Atmos 0.8.7, OS 7.0.1, the 3.0 update and some dlc packs that unlock Joker, knuckles, tails, persona stuff. I'm thinking I should uninstall and try to find a better source for the DLC.

Regarding choidujuour, even if I have fat32 is better to update on exfat, right? I mean no problem and I get exfat in case I need it, right?

Installing the driver is fine, less file corruption when you are on FAT32, you can use exFAT just in case since you installed the driver.

1/Alright, is there any consequence of not updating the cartdridge like known malfunction or corruption with later system version?
Whoops forgot to mention this important bit. The way we prevent the cartridge slot from being updated is by breaking it meaning to allow you to use cartridges on firmwares below 4.0, you cannot use cartridges on firmwares above 4.0. So you have to pick which side of the spectrum you want your cartridges to work.

2/So technically I can keep my sysNAND to v3 and have my emuNAND set to v7? Also I suppose that using emuNAND in the Internet is risky then?
Yes and yes.

4/Alright, so basically if I do that in case of any problem I can restore that to make my system as good as freshly installed?
Yes

5/Do you have a link explaining all these workarounds?
Just google splitting .XCI files or USB install with .NSP files. There are about as many workarounds as there are different files that need workarounds.

No but when you restore your boot0/boot1, AutoRCM will be enabled so don't confuse the black screen for a brick.

That should work, yes.

Dumping the NAND after enabling AutoRCM simply means when you restore your boot0/boot1, AutoRCM will be re-enabled. If you still don't understand, if you ever have to restore your NAND, the screen will stay black after you restore it not because its bricked but because your dumped boot0/boot1 have AutoRCM installed. This isn't a bad thing, just something to keep in mind. Also the GPT repair option is useless if you have a complete NAND dump.

I'm not really sure how to answer that. Theoretically, you can dump the NAND before you ever start the console. But that means when you restore that NAND dump, the console will become brand new. So its really up to you whether you want to dump the NAND before or after the first time you initialize the Switch.

Do nsps carry software updates? How is it possible that a switch gets updated without internet connection and 90DSN set up?
No but installing certain .NSP files updates a list on the console that tells it there is a higher system firmware out there.

  1. Theoretically yes but no one has been banned thus far for doing that myself included
  2. All homebrew applications go in the /switch folder. All CFW do this
  3. Yes but I don't see any reason to update to 8.0 outside of online play

Its also possible your base game is corrupt as there was a 'Suncat' version going around when the game was leaked that wasn't a clean dump.
