I have a rebug chip and i am trying to use memloader but I believe is screwing with the data comm. Is there a UF2 I can flash now that enables datacomm in RCM mode or do i still need to disconnect the D+ / D- ?

memloader fully works with nothing extra to do.

Check your wiring, in particular the GND cnnection.

Thanks for the input, the problem was i did a real n00b screwup and didn't want to come clean. I updated my exfat 6.2 and selected nonexfat 701 so the fw wouldn't launch after doing a bunch of stupid things including burning the fuses from 5.2 to 701 i realized all i had to do was format an sdcard to fat32 and update with the exfat. Before that i was going to try and do the manual choidujoir method but with the modchip installed i have no idea how to get into generic rcm mode so windows will recover it as apx. I was using a new pc that i hadnt done before.

I just soldered in my rcmx86 with the 4 pin method. It works nicely but I m not sure what to do.now. It has version 0.92... I didn't use any strap. Can I still install the new uf2? I don't see any strapless uf2. ? I m using a modded joycon no autorcm.
Edit
I just reread all.. No need for switch boot. Just install the part 2 uf2. Whoops :o

Hi, I just installed the RCMX86 in my switch, with joycon strap, flashed latest switchboot uf2, I have OFW7.0.1 and Emunand 6.2 with SXOS, it worked beautifully for the first day, tested dual boot OFW and CFW, but my switch won't turn on the next day after an overnight charge, I have tried all different ways like hold power for over 12 second plus some triple click tricks, none worked, any idea what could be the problem?

I can't tell because I can't check the battery level. does this sound like a bad soldering? thanks
Impossible to tell until you post a pic of your install. Post it in modchip thread and I`ll take a look.

Sorry for the delay with 1.3.0!

Had a hectic Easter Monday. Whole family been round.

Anyway...

Making UF2s this evening.

Changelog:
  • Firmware 8.0.0 support
  • Manually create a blank INI if it is missing
  • Reworked new AutoRCM code to provide an override
  • Fixed a nasty memory leak
  • Certain options added back due to slimming down some code to make some space
  • This is an interim release as I am working on more stuff. USB isn`t ready for primetime yet. Very unreliable as of yet.

V1.3.0 up

If you are using the SXOS licence.dat regeneration feature, obviously you will need to copy/paste your licence code again into the UF2 as described earlier in thread. But that is only a 2 second job and it isn`t crucial, as it will refuse to create if it exists already... So you cannot ever lose it!

Triple-post. Oh well never mind...

Slight bug with 1.3.0.

Linux doesn`t boot.

Fixed internally.

Will upload 1.3.1 later. My mistake!

Use the switchboot.bin and put it on your dongle via drag and drop

How to update with "SAMD Chip Update Mode" ?

Select samd chip update mode, screen will go black.

Press reset twice on chip, connect to PC. That's all.

It eventually booted up after leaving on the charger overlight, it was like charging very very slow after the RCMX86 installed, I have v1.22 switchboot flashed, and I have connected these wires: ground, 3v, two USB pins, joycon strap and the usb disconnect strap, any idea why it is charging very slow? thanks

Could be the USB disconnect strap causing problems but I doubt it.

To disable the strap, drag and drop the UF2 again, but the moment the file dialog disappears, disconnect from USB. The strap will be disabled then.
