Yea, initial mariko support was added in 5.x, so I also heavily doubt they'll be on 4.xI can't see how a Switch Mini releasing late 2019 will have 4.1 firmware.
I'd be very surprised if Mariko shit was even in devkit stuff right nowThe Mariko stuff showing that is likely for dev units.
fat32 works fine on high capacity micro SD cards . exFat corruption isn't ever going away unless Nintendo fixes their exFat driver (which I doubt will happen since they literally have no reason to do so) or somebody reimplements FSBetter Homebrew support for higher sd card without it getting corrupted for exFat.
I'm pretty sure they were referring to old mobile Java games. Is there anything Java based that is worth running on the Switch? Minecraft wouldn't work since it relies on LWJGL.
You just listed exploits, not CFW. Hackers can't make exploits magically happen. They only get what they can find a vulnerability for. SciresM even stated that the only firmwares that may see an untethered coldboot exploit are those on 3.0.1 and below. All I want is a permanent CFW for the Switch that boots automatically from a coldboot.
No payload injecting or AutoRCM stuff, similar to boot9strap and Luma on the 3DS.
After that, perhaps media player on Switch and a better way to distribute stuff on Home menu.
This thread is simply a list of things people want to see. Everyone knows they're not entitled to these things and that a lot of these things may never see the light of day, but they're still things that they wish to see. Hence the title of the thread. Saying it'll never happen is kinda pointless here. You just listed exploits, not CFW. Hackers can't make exploits magically happen. They only get what they can find a vulnerability for. I'm not the one saying its kinda pointless. In fact, I never stated anything of the sort. I added that an untethered coldboot exploit is possible on firmwares 3.0.1 and below as per SciresM who also heavily implies an untethered coldboot exploit past 3.0.1 is heavily unlikely. This thread is simply a list of things people want to see. I also don't think its pointless to differentiate between exploits and CFW because misunderstandings can snowball fast and hard, especially in a scene still growing. For example, people believed Meteos was the creator or ReiNX when his stash was still being distributed. Or the fact that some people believe Kosmos is a CFW and thus better than Atmosphere. There is nothing wrong with stomping out misinformation and educating people to know better.
I intend to be fully transparent about this shit, especially going forwards. At present, I'm not aware of any non-RCM means of getting code execution from coldboot. To the best of my knowledge, nobody else is, either.
i know, but let me keep my unrealistic DreamsThat's impossible for the Switch.

I think I get where the confusion is coming from. You quoted the wrong post. You meant to reply the post where I stated permanent CFW is impossible. It is impossible. Permanent CFW would be to sign the CFW so it can be installed to the internal NAND without the need for an exploit which is likely to never happen in our lifetimes. That's not the point I'm making here. I said it's pointless to state that something's impossible when the thread is designed to just list what people wish to see. No one's actively stating that these are features that we will see, they're just stating what they wish to see; regardless of whether or not it's currently possible.
I also never said it was wrong to do it, just that it's pointless to in this particular thread.
I am not wondering since it is pointless.I think I get where the confusion is coming from. You quoted the wrong post. You meant to reply the post where I stated permanent CFW is impossible. A permanent or untethered coldboot exploit is completely different from permanent CFW because the exploit has nothing to do with CFW except for launching it. You also cannot make the exploit untethered/permanent unless the exploit happens to work like that.
And in case you are wondering why I am stressing the difference, I have already explained the reasoning in my previous post.
Yet you continue quoting me in response so you either see some merit in this discussion or you want to increase your post count.I am not wondering since it is pointless.
It seems like the latter is the case for the both of us.Yet you continue quoting me in response so you either see some merit in this discussion or you want to increase your post count.
No I'm fine with having over 8,000 posts already. Getting the last title at 10,000 posts is not worth this.It seems like the latter is the case for the both of us.
