Hacking Switch unban?!

Banned or not the switch still downloads the update. I’m banned and the 7.0 update downloaded, I deleted it and even though I’m banned, to prevent it from happening again, I just setup 90dns, since I don’t want to update my switch till a game may actually need it.

I'm Superban and if I wanted to update to 6.2 I had the ban error message after that I didntd try the 7.0 update maybe they change it

It has been possible to do for a while, the issue is it still requires valid certificates to do and as such you're either (a.) stealing someone's certificate or (b.) bought another Switch or had another cert lying around.

Possible and practical aren't the same thing.

I know back in the MW2 days you could unban yourself on a hacked console, but the next time you connect to the internet you had 4 hours until the next ban. This is how we ran modded lobbies - buy a keyvault and unban yourself, then the money flooded in.

I think Nintendo bans rather instantly for egregious offenses, though, so doing that sort of thing wouldn't work here. There might still be a market for unbanned certs, though.

Look at his error code - 2811-5001. That is not ban-related, that is due to network connectivity problems.
Connectivity problems that he created himself by putting a proxy that probably causes this very error in the first place and then he just removes the proxy and it works again. Wow, magic.
I wonder how anyone can fall for this.

Learn Spanish first, second learn how to read. I don't know how 8 people could be agreeing with you, since the video seems to be very reliable, the guy gives (even if superficially) all the explanations of the case.. the video actually proves itself.

Why even bother? You would need a second console to utilize this anyways which would mean you have already unbanned yourself with the second console.

But this is still not "unbanning". It's just a temporary solution until that generated token is banned again. You basically have to repeat it all the time.

Its real in the sense that "yes you can do this".

But it also stupid/pointless since the token changes that went into effect that are in effect asking for the cert to be banned because it is going to be confirming its "identity" with the wrong token on routine checks which happen in less than every-24 hours, that's just the token expiry.

This is genuinely a stupid thing to keep sharing/puffing up.

But this is still not "unbanning". It's just a temporary solution until that generated token is banned again. You basically have to repeat it all the time.

The token is associated with a certificate and a hardware (now), so you have to keep spoofing everything in the hope that one failed check (with their servers now also detecting some aspects of MITM) doesn't nuke the whole structure.

Its explained in this thread (on pages 2 and 3) why Charles and patches is not actually a good idea to do this, and that while you may spoof a temporary token out of it to go online, all you're really accomplishing is putting a target on the cert that was used to generate the valid token.

I mean, this doesn't really help anyone since the token changes effectively make using Charles as a token spoof MITM the equivalent of pointing a gun at your own head.
