I wouldnt trust the russian version either
Cuz if it detects u are an english speaker in anyway itll execute brick code (i have witnessed it in action was a close call, i force shut down my switch to save it)
ive been using dbi for a long time now and ive never had it brick my console as for messing with the transalations i did not know this was possible on console i know that there are devs that have made english patches of the latest versions but im really confused about the console bricking issue do i have anything to be worried about using the current versions?

Yes, if a homebrew application wanted to brick your Switch, it certainly could. However, there is zero evidence that the author of DBI wants to do that. Anyone, including you, has the ability to create something that could brick a Switch.
No, I don't think you need to worry about using DBI as long as you're using the official, unpatched version. If you're using a patched version, though, then a threat is a threat.

The guy who made DBI said it on this platform that if you use DBI translated itll flag ur switch, and then even DBI russian will brick a tagged switch, we still dont know how to remove the tag besides reformating cfw. Its better to stay safe then sorry and not use a program from a guy known to add malware to hus code.

Randomized chance of doing somthing destructive. The porgrammer said so
That's pretty funny. That guy is a master troll.
I totally understand people being hesitant to use it based on the things he's said in the past though. The intent is probably just to scare people away from using the app so he doesn't have to deal with them anymore. But there's no way of knowing for sure what he might do in the future.
